Saugerties, NY – The Stallions are thrilled to announce the addition of Charlie Hayes, former Major League player and Minor League coach. He will be joining two former Major Leaguers on the Stallions coaching staff this Summer including Shane Spencer and Rich Dubee. Throughout his 14-year career, he spent time with the Giants, Phillies, Yankees, Rockies, Pirates, Brewers and Astros tallying 144 homeruns and winning a World Series with the New York Yankees in 1996.

Hayes’ coaching career is as expansive as his career in MLB. He was a coach for the Gulf Coast League (GCL) Phillies, as well as the Phillies Triple-A Affiliate, Lehigh Valley IronPigs. When asked what his message to Stallions fans is for this upcoming season, Hayes said “Come out, cheer the kids on, we’re going to work hard, we’re going to do our best every day to win and put our best foot forward, and just have fun.” Charlie also has two sons who have played in MLB, Tyree and Ke’Bryan. Ke’Bryan is currently on the Pittsburgh Pirates and has shown potential to become the face of the franchise. He ranks 9th among all prospects according to MLB Top 100 Prospect Rankings.

Stallions Owner/President Kevin Hinchey said, “It’s not only a goal but an obligation to our players and entire community to build a first-class organization in Saugerties and having 7 World Series rings in the dugout solidifies the time and effort we’ve put into building this for the last 5 years.” The Saugerties Stallions are comprised of top tier collegiate athletes with NCAA eligibility from around the United States. The club participates in a 16-team summer league throughout New York known as the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL).
