GLENS FALLS, N.Y. –  The Saugerties Stallions captured their third straight victory on Wednesday with a 9-2 win over the Glens Falls Dragons.

Neither team would score until the fourth inning when the Stallions were able to strike and put four runs on the board.

With two down in the top half of that inning, Brett Heckert legged out an infield single to bring in a run and Colin Mackle brought in two more runs with a single of his own on the next at-bat.

Heckert would come around to score as well on a wild pitch for the final run of the inning.

Meanwhile on the mound, starting pitcher Bryan Boully didn’t allow a run through five innings while striking out seven batters.

The Dragons would cut the four-run lead in half in the sixth inning on a single to make it a 4-2 game.

That would remain the score until the Stallions got an insurance run on a wild pitch in the eighth inning before breaking the game wide open an inning later.

Alex Rodriguez brought a run in on a single and in the very next at-bat, Garrison Berkley hit one off the wall for a double which brought in two more runs.

The final run for the Stallions would come on a fielder’s choice to make it a 9-2 lead which would hold for the rest of the game.

Saugerties finished its four-game road stretch with a 3-1 record and improved to 19-15-1 on the season.

The Stallions finally return home on Thursday as they welcome the Oneonta Outlaws, the team who handed them that one loss during the stretch, to town.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
