Player of the Week: Jackson Strong, Niagara Power
Co-Pitcher of the Week: Patrick DeMarco, Jamestown Tarp Skunks
Co-Pitcher of the Week: Jack Conley, Auburn DoubleDays
Niagara’s Jackson Strong (Canisius) is the West Division Player of the Week after tallying five hits, four RBI, four runs scored and two walks during the Power’s 3-1 week. During an 8-3 win at Newark, Strong went 3 for 5 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. He followed that up with two hits, including a two-run home run during a 13-6 win over the Pilots on Saturday.
Right-handed pitcher Patrick DeMarco (Ohio) of the Jamestown Tarp Skunks is the West Division Co-Pitcher of the Week due to his performance during his first start of the campaign on Monday. DeMarco allowed just one hit, zero walks and zero runs with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work against the Pilots as Jamestown earned a 9-0 victory to improve to 2-0. He then pitched 1.0 inning in relief during the Tarp Skunks’ 14-6 win against the Geneva Red Wings, allowing one hit, zero runs and one walk with two strikeouts.
Right-handed pitcher Jack Conley (Hiram) of the Auburn DoubleDays is also the West Division Co-Pitcher of the Week following a great start against the Jamestown Tarp Skunks on Friday. Conley completed 6.0 innings of work in his season debut while allowing just one hit, zero walks and zero runs with two strikeouts as the DoubleDays handed the Tarp Skunks their first loss of the season by a score of 7-0.
