SAUGERTIES, N.Y. – The Stallions got the bats going early, and kept pushing en route to an 8-2 win
over the Geneva Red Wings in the PGCBL Semifinals at Cantine Field on Saturday night.

The Stallions got off to a hot start, plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. After a single by Kip
Fougerousse (Indiana) and a walk from Cade Verdusco (Grand Canyon), Andrew Wilhite smoked a triple
down the right-field line to score both runners.

The Red Wings responded in the 2 nd , scoring a run on an RBI single from Nicholas Serce (Alfred State).
A diving stop by Jack Renwick (Wofford) kept the ball in the infield, but tricky baserunning from Elliott
Good (Central Connecticut State) allowed him to dance around catcher Max Moris (St. Thomas) and
touch home safely.

The Stallions pushed the lead back to two in the fourth. A single by Nick Iverson (IC Davis) allowed
Moris to advance to third, and he advanced home on an errant throw by Korson Hastings (Moravian).
In the fifth, Saugerties added two more runs. After a walk to Verdusco, Andrew Wilhite (Minnesota)
smoked a two-run home run over the right-field fence, extending the lead to 5-1.

The Red Wings responded in the top of the 6 th , scoring a run on an RBI single from Ben Griffin (UC
Davis), which allowed Brady Slinger (Hamilton) to score from second base, cutting the lead to 5-2.

Saugerties blew open the game in the 8 th . Walks to Caden Kendle (UC Irvine) and Jarrett Brown (Georgia
Southern) led to a three-run home run by Josh Stevenson (LSU). It was his third home run of the summer.

Andres Auffant (Franklin Pierce) started for the Stallions, earning the win. He went 5.1 innings, allowing
2 runs, with 2 walks and 1 strikeout. Cam Holmes (Miles) started for the Red Wings, being tagged with
the loss after allowing 2 runs in 3 innings. Michael Stanford (UC Irvine) picked up the save for
Saugerties, throwing the final 2 innings with a pair of walks and a strikeout.

The Red Wings (24-19) see their season come to an end in the PGCBL semifinals.

The Stallions (28-12) advance to the PGCBL Championship, where they will face the Amsterdam Mohawks in a best-of-3 series.

The series begins on Saturday at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam.
