SAUGERTIES, N.Y. – Stallions played host to the Boonville Baseball Club in a double-header at Cantine and were able to take two into the off day.
Game one started with a three-run blast from Boonville hitter Scott Seeker but Stallions would answer with nine runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back.
Easton Bertrand sent a ball into the parking lot that scored three Stallion runs while Evan Goforth hit a grand-slam in the same inning giving the Stallions nine runs in the first inning.
Seven runs would come across in the following inning thanks to hits from Garrison Berkley, Garrett Michel, Kip Fougerousse, Niko Amory and Brandon Fish.
Stallions would end the first game after five innings and 22 runs to Boonville’s 9.
Game two would be a lot of the same with a first inning three-run blast coming off the bat of Garrett Michel to put the Stallions up early on and never looked back. Michel would end the day going a perfect six-for-six with four RBIs one four singles, a double and a homerun. He would earn player of the game honors following game two.
Game two starting pitcher Bryan Boully pitched three innings of two-hit baseball striking out seven.
In the end, the Stallions scored 33 runs on the day on 29 hits in two games to improve to 24-16 on the year and remain 2nd in the East Standings.
The Stallions have an off day on Thursday but head back out to Cantine Field on Friday for a 7:05 contest against the Albany Dutchmen.
