June 7th, 2022
It was a relatively quiet night across the PGCBL, with only two games being played. But there was no shortage of excitement in those games!
Niagara Power 10, Elmira Pioneers 4
The Power scored four runs in the second inning to grad an early advantage and secure a road victory. Andres Hulfachor (Clark) was dominant on the mound for the Power, tossing seven innings and giving up two runs. At the plate, Jayden Lobliner (Kansas State) had five RBIs with two doubles and a triple, while Payton Eeles (Cederville) went 2-for-2 and stole a pair of bases.
Batavia Muckdogs 12, Jamestown Tarp Skunks 6
A wild first four innings saw the game tied at six, but the Muckdogs turned on the jets in the back half of the game. They scored four runs in the fifth and two more in the eighth to secure the win. Gavin Schrader (Niagara) had an RBI double as part of that four-run fifth. Both Daniel Burroway (Alvin CC) and Alec Maag (Adeplhi) also had RBI doubles in the win.
The games between the Amsterdam Mohawks and Watertown Rapids as well as the Geneva Red Wings and Newark Pilots were postponed due to inclement weather. The matchup between Amsterdam and Watertown will be made up as part of a doubleheader in Watertown on June 19. The game between Geneva and Newark will be made up at a later date.
