With 14 PGCBL teams in action on the first Sunday of the season, check out what happened in each of the seven games!

Niagara Power 9, Batavia Muckdogs 8

The Power scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to earn the league’s first walk-off victory of the new season. With one out, Alex Dzimian (D’Youville) tied the game with an RBI single, then Michael Stellrecht (Binghamton) delivered the game-winning hit, another single. Payton Eeles (Cedarville) had two hits, including a triple and scored three times, while Mike Huff (Western Michigan) also tripled, one of his three hits.

Jamestown Tarp Skunks 9, Elmira Pioneers 6

It was a consistent offensive attack from Jamestown, scoring in five different innings. Jack Davis (North Georgia) had two hits and two RBIs while Brandon Lane (Seton Hill) had two hits, one of them a double, an RBI and a run scored while Yogi Hartigan (George Mason) went 2-for-5. Joe Muzio (Eckerd) had three hits for the Pioneers.

Auburn Doubledays 11, Geneva Red Wings 1

Jake Danyluk (Oswego State), Carson Ashby (Ithaca) and Ryan Bailey (Alfred State) carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and combined to give up just one hit in the win. On offense, the Doubledays scored five runs in the fifth inning and four more in the seventh. As part of that fifth inning, Dominic Guccia (St. John Fisher) had a two-run single. Dylan Mackenzie (Cortland) and Blake Murray (Montana State) also had multiple RBIs.

Watertown Rapids 7, Boonville Baseball Club 4

It was Tyree Bradley’s (Bloomfield College) day, hitting a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning, then following it up with a two-run single in the second inning, helping Watertown open up a 6-0 lead by the end of the second inning. Elvis Lopez (Bloomfield College) had a late RBI single as part of his 2-for-4 afternoon. Derrike Goutremote (Utica College) threw six innings of two-run ball for the Rapids.

Utica Blue Sox 16, Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 12 (10 innings)

The Blue Sox and DiamondDawgs combined for 28 runs and 38 hits in the PGCBL’s first extra inning contest of the year. The DiamondDawgs led 7-4 heading to the top of the ninth, but Utica tied the game with three runs. Utica then put nine runs on the board in the top of the 10th. Mohawk Valley rallied with five of their own in the bottom half, but came up short. Troy Hamilton (USC Upstate) had four RBIs for the Blue Sox. Demetrius Johnson (Goldey-Beacom) hit a home run for Mohawk Valley.

Glens Falls Dragons 11, Oneonta Outlaws 2

The Dragons earned their first win of the season in blowout fashion, scoring eight runs in the seventh inning after leading 1-0 until then. A two-run single from Mario Cubello (St. John Fisher) and a bases-loaded triple off the bat of Phillip Krpata (St. Joseph’s-Long Island) were the two big back-breakers in that frame. Riley Orr (Castleton) threw four innings of shutout ball in the win.

Amsterdam Mohawks 16, Saugerties Stallions 5

The Mohawks put up a season-high 16 runs in the victory to stay undefeated. With the game tied at four at the end of two innings, the Mohawks scored a pair of runs in the third and put up six in the fourth. Hunter Thomas (Rend Lake CC) went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, while Zach Gardiner (Marshall) went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Amsterdam tallied five doubles as a team.
