It was another night of competitive baseball in the PGCBL on Tuesday. Here’s how it went down!

Saugerties Stallions 4, Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 0 (Game 1)

In Game 1 of the doubleheader in Little Falls, it was the ten-hitter Mason Speaker (TCU) that lifted the Stallions to the victory. Speaker went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI’s, doubling his season hit and RBI totals and registering his first two doubles of the summer.

Saugerties Stallions 7, Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 12 (Game 2)

Mohawk Valley responded in a big way to take the split in the doubleheader, as Garrett Musey (Goldey-Beacom College) and Orlando Pena (Coastal Carolina) each had a homer and four RBIs. Every batter in both lineup reached base in the nightcap, while 10 of the 19 picked up at least one RBI.

Batavia Muckdogs 7, Niagara Power 1

The Batavia bats exploded for 15 hits in the victory, led by Brian Fry (Toledo) and Kyle Corso (Columbia) who had three apiece, while the arms shut down the Niagara bats, throwing a combined three-hiter. Jack Nielsen (East Stroudsburg) had one of the best starts of the PGCBL summer, striking out 11 in his six innings of work where he allowed just one hit and one walk.

Auburn Doubledays 1, Utica Blue Sox 7

Utica’s winning ways continued on Tuesday night, as Evan Esch (St. Thomas) continued his summer dominance, moving to 3-0 after he threw seven innings, allowing five hits, one run, one walk, and struck out six. Dewey Roden (Le Moyne) had his first home run of the summer and had three RBI’s in the victory to make it four games in a row with at least one run batted in.

Oneonta Outlaws 2, Elmira Pioneers 9

Each hitter in the Elmira order picked up at least one hit on Tuesday night, as the Pioneers put 13 total to overwhelm Oneonta. Oneonta put up one in the top of the first before Elmira responded with two of their own and led the rest of the way, as the M&M duo of Mike Sokol (Chipola) and Mason Smith (Wells) combined to allow just one run and four hits in the final eight innings.
