Four contests were completed on Sunday. The scheduled matchup between the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs and the Watertown Rapids was postponed due to rain. The Utica Blue Sox and the Saugerties Stallions began their game a little after 5:00 p.m., but it was suspended due to rain in the third inning, with the Blue Sox holding a 5-2 advantage.

Jamestown Tarp Skunks 5, Niagara Power 4

The Tarp Skunks (10-6-1) defeated the Power (9-5-1) at home on Sunday afternoon in walk-off fashion. With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Jamestown left fielder Braydon Johnson (Western Kentucky) ripped a one-out double with nobody on base, then he advanced to third on a wild pitch. As shortstop Grady Mee (Western Michigan) faced a 1-1 count with two outs in the inning, Johnson attempted to steal home as the pitcher delivered out of the windup. The pitch was outside, taking the catcher away from the plate. Johnson avoided the tag, dove headfirst and touched the plate to give the Tarp Skunks a walk-off victory, and improve their record to 10-6-1, good for third place in the West Division Standings. The Power are now second in the division standings behind the Muckdogs.

Jamestown outfielder Kieran Gagnon (Gannon) recorded a team-high two hits and a team-best two runs scored on Sunday, and outfielder Jared Muñoz (UMass) provided a base hit and a team-high two runs batted in.

Niagara right fielder Jackson Strong (Canisius) recorded two hits and a team-high two runs scored during the setback, while third baseman Vincent Mauro (Niagara) tallied two hits, two walks, one run and one RBI.

Jamestown right-handed pitcher Luc Fuller (Drury) was credited with the win on the mound after stranding three runners on base during a scoreless top of the ninth.

Niagara right-handed starting pitcher Brendan Morse (Niagara County) limited the home team to four hits, one walk and one run with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. Morse received no decision on Sunday, maintaining his 2-0 record this summer.

The Tarp Skunks, who previously defeated the Power by a score of 5-2 on Friday, hold a 3-1-1 record against the Power so far this season. The two teams battled to a 2-2 tie on June 13.

Jamestown and Niagara will meet again on July 6 at Sal Maglie Stadium.

Elmira Pioneers 7, Auburn DoubleDays 6

The Pioneers (11-7) scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the eighth on a solo home run from third baseman Rey Hernandez (St. Thomas), then right-handed pitcher Brendan Ferrari (UMass Boston) recorded a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the ninth to secure the team’s 7-6 victory over the DoubleDays on Sunday at Dunn Field.

Hernandez finished the contest with a triple, a home run and a game-high three runs scored for the Pioneers, while Ferrari did not allow a base runner during the final two innings to improve his record to 2-0 this summer.

Right fielder John Schroeder (Florida Atlantic) recorded an RBI double, a single, two walks and a run scored to help the Pios end a three-game skid, while shortstop Dom Presto (Florida Atlantic) provided a team-high two runs batted in.

Elmira starting left-handed pitcher Devin Murray tallied seven strikeouts and allowed three earned runs in 4.2 innings of work against the visiting DoubleDays, then right-hander Christian Zilli (Seton Hill) allowed zero hits, one walk and zero runs with two strikeouts in 2.1 innings in relief before Ferrari entered to record the final six outs.

Auburn left fielder Christian Melillo (Southwestern) registered one hit, one run, a stolen base and a game-high three runs batted in during the setback.

The regular-season series between Auburn and Elmira this summer is now even at 2-2. The two sides will meet again on July 5 at Auburn’s Falcon Park.

Elmira currently has the fourth-best winning percentage in the West Division Standings, and Auburn is close behind with the fifth-best winning percentage in the division.

Batavia Muckdogs 8, Geneva Red Wings 4

The Muckdogs (13-7) jumped out to a 6-1 lead after three innings on Sunday at Dwyer Stadium, and they held on for an 8-4 win over the Red Wings (4-9).

Batavia’s current five-game winning streak has them in first place in the West Division Standings.

Batavia catcher Brice Mortillaro (Georgia Southwestern State) tallied three hits, one run scored and two RBI during the victory, while second baseman Giuseppe Arcuri (Saint Leo) also drove in two runs for the Muckdogs to go along with two hits and a run.

Shortstop Lucas Lopez (St. Thomas) added three hits and two runs scored to the Batavia cause, while left fielder Matt DeStefano (Stony Brook) contributed a triple, a single and two runs scored.

Batavia right-handed relief pitcher Ryan Kinney (Xavier University of Louisiana) was credited with the win after allowing zero hits, one walk and zero runs with two strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched in relief.

Left-hander Alex Deutsch (Wesleyan) tossed 3.0 scoreless innings in relief with four strikeouts for the Red Wings.

The Muckdogs are now 2-1 against the Red Wings so far this summer. The two sides will play again on July 6 at Geneva’s McDonough Park.

Glens Falls Dragons 12, Albany Dutchmen 10

With the help of a seven-run inning in the bottom of the third, the Dragons (6-9) claimed a win at home over the Dutchmen (6-11) in East Division action.

Glens Falls first baseman Ryan Grace (Colby) recorded three hits, one run scored, and a game-high three runs batted in during the win, while right fielder Arit Moreno (Atlantis) registered two hits and two runs scored, and second baseman Johan Sandoval (Bryant and Stratton) added a solo home run in the bottom of the second.

Glens Falls right-hander Owen Goodridge (Assumption) earned the win on the mound after tossing 2.1 innings in relief, then right-hander Antonio Hicks (Central Connecticut) recorded the save after holding the Dutchmen to one run with two strikeouts during the final 2.1 innings.

Albany third baseman Brody Keneston (Le Moyne) tallied two hits, one walk and two runs scored during the setback, while shortstop Joe Karpierz (Xavier) recorded a team-high two RBI with a single, a walk and a run scored. The Dutchmen are now 2-1 against the Dragons so far this season. The two sides will meet again on July 6 at Albany’s Keenholts Park.

The Dragons now have the fifth-best winning percentage in the East Division.
