Nine games of PGCBL action on Thursday night, with each of the league’s 16 teams in action. Read all about them!

Boonville Baseball Club 5, Albany Dutchmen 2 (Game 1)

Boonville scored all five of their runs in the fifth inning to take the first game of the doubleheader. In that frame, Dan Tauken (Rockland CC), Scott Seeker (Western Oklahoma State) and Ryan Rifenberg (Lansing CC) all came up with RBI singles, part of Tauken going 3-for-4 and Seeker going 2-for-4. On the mound, Jacob Dannenberg (Adelphi) tossed five innings of two-run ball. Nick Plue (Manhattan) hit a home run for Albany.

Albany Dutchmen 7, Boonville Baseball Club 0 (Game 2)

The Dutchmen scored six of their seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to split the doubleheader. Those frames were highlighted by a solo home run off the bat of Anthony Raimo Jr. (Rhode Island), who finished the second game of the twin bill 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Dan Keaney (Marist) tossed six shutout innings for Albany, allowing just two hits and striking out five.

Jamestown Tarp Skunks 6, Niagara Power 3

Trailing 3-1 after six innings, Jamestown staged a comeback in the top of the seventh inning, scoring three runs in that frame, highlighted by an RBI single off the bat of Julian Thompson (Stephen F. Austin) that tied the game. In the eighth inning, Will Dorrell (Flo-Dar CC) had an RBI single as part of a 2-for-4 night, driving in three runs. Brandon Lane (Seton Hill) had an RBI double in that same frame.

Auburn Doubledays 5, Watertown Rapids 2

The Doubledays got on the board in the fourth inning on a two-run home run off the bat of Luke Hanson (Virginia), who went 2-for-4 with two runs driven in on the home run and had two runs scored. Kobe Stenson (Siena) had an RBI single in the sixth inning as part of a 3-for-4, three-RBI night, and Juan Carlos de la Cruz (Virginia) and Michael Cervantes (Louisiana-Monroe) each had RBI singles one inning later.

Utica Blue Sox 9, Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 6

The Blue Sox scored nine runs in their ninth win in a row, scoring in five different frames to do it. Troy Hamilton (USC Upstate) went 3-for-5 with four RBIs with a trio of RBI singles, including driving in two runs in the seventh inning with one swing of the bat. Brandyn Durand (Kentucky) hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning as part of a 2-for-4 night, also scoring twice.

Geneva Red Wings 12, Elmira Pioneers 6

Geneva flew out to a 10-0 lead after six innings, including a three-run home run off the bat of Nick Serce (Alfred State), who went 2-for-4 on the night with those three RBIs and two runs scored. Two innings later, Geneva came up with three RBI doubles off the bats of Andrew Whinney (Holy Cross), Brandon Gelpi (Illinois-Chicago) and Jordan Jaffe (Richmond), a trio that combined for seven of Geneva’s 13 hits. Luke Gabrysh (St. Joseph’s) threw six innings of shutout ball.

Amsterdam Mohawks 11, Saugerties Stallions 0

This one was all Amsterdam, scoring in six different innings to improve to a league-best 15-3 on the season. Zach Gardiner (Marshall) had an RBI double in the fourth inning as part of a 3-for-4, four RBI night, one of six different Mohawks to drive in a run. Gage Miller (Bishop State CC) went 2-for-4 with a double, while Mark Black (Wake Forest) also doubled. Cade Citelli (Texas-Arlington) tossed six innings of shutout ball.

Oneonta Outlaws 6, Glens Falls Dragons 5

The Outlaws staged a ninth-inning comeback to win it, scoring three runs in the top of the ninth after trailing 5-3. Jelani Hamer (St. Rose) had the big hit, a two-run single in that frame that gave the Outlaws the lead. Dylan Broderick (Pitt-Johnstown) went 2-for-5 in the victory as well. Reece de Castro (Castleton) went 2-for-3 in the loss for Glens Falls.

Newark Pilots 7, Batavia Muckdogs 5

Newark scored four runs in the top of the third to set the tone and then scored three more two innings later to solidify the win. In that third inning, Kobe Mentzer (Union) came up with a two-run double, while Greg Kopp (Hamilton) had an RBI single as part of a 3-for-4 night. In the fifth, three runs scored on a single from Alex Duffy (Elon). Fernando Espinal (Cayuga CC) went 2-for-4 in the win as well.
