Amsterdam Mohawks 4, Auburn Doubledays 2 (Game 1)

The Mohawks took the first game of the doubleheader by scoring in four of the seven innings, including two runs in the second, highlighted by an RBI single off the bat of Michael O’Shaughnessy (Davidson). Later on, Brett Coker (Middle Tennessee State) hit an RBI single and Frankie Marinelli (Manhattan) tacked on an RBI double. Nolan Lamere (Clarke) tossed four innings of two-run ball for the Mohawks.

Amsterdam Mohawks 2, Auburn Doubledays 1 (Game 2)

The Mohawks took the second game of the doubleheader with the same suspects as the first game, with Coker hitting a sacrifice fly in the in the first inning and Marinelli scoring from first on an error in the fourth inning. Arlon Butts (Rend Lake CC) worked into the sixth inning, allowing just one run.

Jamestown Tarp Skunks 4, Geneva Red Wings 2

The Tarp Skunks scored three runs in the second inning in order to take an early lead and did not look back. In that frame, Johnny Kampes (Goldey-Beacom) started it off with an RBI double and was followed up by an RBI triple Julian Thompson (Stephen F. Austin) and then an RBI single from Dan Maglio (Monmouth). On the mound, Eric Crouse (Wagner) tossed five innings of one-run ball and struck out four.

Albany Dutchmen 7, Oneonta Outlaws 3

The Dutchmen grabbed a 3-0 lead in the third inning and scored in five different innings, that third frame highlighted by a three-run triple from Nick Schwartz (St. John’s), who finished the night 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored in the win after he added an RBI single in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Caden Shapiro (Princeton) also went 2-for-4 for Albany. On the mound, Michael DiMartino (Fairleigh Dickinson) struck out eight over four shutout innings.

Utica Blue Sox 13, Newark Pilots 2

The Blue Sox scored in five different innings, including five runs in the fifth inning, to pick up a lopsided victory. That frame was highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Easton Brenner (Lafayette) and a bases-loaded triple from Chris Fernandez (Felician). In the eighth inning, Will King (Eastern Kentucky) had three runs score on a single, part of a 2-for-3 night with three runs scored. Brandon Peterson (NJIT) threw four innings of no-hit ball for Utica.

The game between the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs and Saugerties Stallions was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up at a later date.
