Eight PGCBL contests were completed on Father’s Day, including a doubleheader between Glens Falls and Mohawk Valley.

Niagara Power 4, Batavia Muckdogs 2

With the help of a three-run inning in the bottom of the second, the Power (7-2-1) claimed a 4-2 win over the Muckdogs (7-5) to remain in first place in the West Division Standings with a 0.750 winning percentage. The Power are now 5-0-1 in their last six games.

Niagara catcher Jeremy Glinski (D’Youville) recorded a team-high two hits on Sunday, including an RBI double in the bottom of the second that broke the 0-0 tie. First baseman Alex Dzimian (D’Youville) also drove in a run during the bottom of the second, and he finished the contest with a game-high two RBI.

Niagara second baseman Andrew Stillinger (Niagara County) recorded a single, a walk and a game-high two runs scored during the win.

Niagara starting pitcher Brendan Morse (Niagara County) earned the win on the mound after limiting the visitors to two hits, one earned run and three walks with two strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work. Right-hander Andrew Damiani (Niagara County) tossed the final 4.0 innings and allowed just one hit, zero runs and zero walks with four strikeouts to record the save.

The Power will return to action on Monday with a 6:00 p.m. contest against Elmira. The Muckdogs will host Newark on Monday at 6:35 p.m.

Game 1: Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 5, Glens Falls Dragons 2… Game 2: Glens Falls Dragons 3, Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 2

The DiamondDawgs (10-3) and the Dragons (3-5) split their doubleheader on Sunday at Glens Falls’ East Field. Both contests were seven innings.

Game 1 – Mohawk Valley starting pitcher Colin Dowlen (Seton Hall) earned the win on the mound after conceding just one hit, one run and three walks with seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. Third baseman Sam Miller (Columbia) tallied two hits and two runs scored for the DiamondDawgs, while center fielder Jaden Ross (Hudson Valley) delivered a two-run single in the top of the fourth.

Glens Falls shortstop Zander Teator (Babson) drew three walks during the setback.

With the victory, the DiamondDawgs extended their winning streak to nine games. Mohawk Valley previously ended Amsterdam’s nine-game winning streak on June 15.

Game 2 – The Dragons won in walk-off fashion on an RBI single from designated hitter Ryan Grace (Colby). Grace finished the contest with two hits and a walk. Left fielder Michael Pratte (Maine) also recorded two hits during the victory to go along with a run scored.

Right-hander Harry Berezansky (Penn West) was credited with the win for Glens Falls after entering the game to begin the sixth and tossing 2.0 scoreless innings in relief.

Mohawk Valley starting pitcher Colin Ruddy (George Washington) allowed just one run in 5.0 innings of work. Designated hitter Mitch Balint (Carson Newman) recorded two extra-base hits during the setback.

The DiamondDawgs will take Monday off before traveling to Watertown on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. matchup against the Rapids. Glens Falls will host Utica on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

Boonville Lumberjacks 12, Watertown Rapids 4

The Lumberjacks (4-8) jumped out a 10-0 lead after two innings before coming away with a 12-4 victory over the Rapids (4-9).

First baseman Santiago Jimenez (Prince George) and left fielder Dom Jackson (Xavier) recorded two runs scored and four RBI each during the victory. Jiminez delivered a two-RBI single in the top of the first to break the 0-0 tie, and Jackson launched a grand slam home run in the second to make it 10-0 in favor of the visitors.

Boonville third baseman Alex Angulo (Gettysburg) recorded a hit, two walks, and three runs scored during the victory.

Boonville starting pitcher Albert Bobadilla (Bloomfield) earned the win after completing 6.0 innings of work, then right-hander Matt Gehris (Alvernia) tossed 3.0 scoreless innings in relief with five strikeouts and zero walks.

Boonville will return home on Tuesday for a 5:00 p.m. matchup against Amsterdam, and Watertown will host Mohawk Valley on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Geneva Red Wings 6, Jamestown Tarp Skunks 3

The Red Wings (3-6) scored two runs in the second, third and fourth innings to claim a big win over the Tarp Skunks (6-4-1) in West Division action. Geneva right fielder Wyatt Patchett (Le Moyne) recorded a game-high two runs batted in with a two-run home run in the bottom of the second to break the 0-0 tie.

Shortstop Cooper Loyal (Albany) recorded a team-high two hits for the Red Wings to go along with a run.

Right-hander Devin Georgetti (Finger Lakes) was credited with the win for Geneva after allowing zero earned runs, two hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched in relief. Georgetti relieved starting pitcher Anthony Lang (St. John Fisher), who held the visitors to five hits, two runs and zero walks with five strikeouts in 4.0 innings of work.

Jamestown loaded the bases with zero outs in the top of the against Geneva reliever Joey Kasper (Iona), but Kasper recorded three consecutive strikeouts to strand the runners on base, end the game and earn his second save of the season.

Jamestown designated hitter Jake Kernodle (Princeton) hammered a solo home run to lead off the top of the fourth inning, while second baseman Aiden Dunlap (Youngstown State) contributed two hits, a walk and an RBI.

The Red Wings will return to action on Tuesday when they host Auburn at 7:05 p.m., while the Tarp Skunks will play next on Wednesday, when they host Batavia for a doubleheader at 4:30 and 7:00 p.m.

Amsterdam Mohawks 10, Utica Blue Sox 6

The Mohawks (12-1) led 7-6 after eight innings, then they added three runs in the top of the ninth to break away from the Blue Sox (5-7) and claim a 10-6 win.

Catcher/extra hitter Bryce Hubbard (Mississippi State) delivered two hits, a run scored and a game-high three RBI for the Mohawks during the victory. Amsterdam right-handed pitcher Joe Gold (Boston College) was credited with the victory after tossing 3.1 scoreless innings in relief.

Utica right-hander Marcus Kruzan (St. Thomas) had a great outing out of the bullpen at Dononvan Stadium on Sunday. Kruzan entered the game to begin the fifth inning, and he went on to record four perfect innings with four strikeouts against the Mohawks. Right fielder Taylor Kaufman (Hamilton) tallied a game-high three hits for the Blue Sox to go along with a team-high two RBI during the setback.

The Mohawks will take Monday off before traveling to Boonville on Tuesday for a 5:00 p.m. games against the Lumberjacks. Utica will play a 7:00 p.m. game at Glens Falls on Monday.

Auburn DoubleDays 9, Newark Pilots 3

The DoubleDays (6-6) used a four-run inning in the top of the seventh to pull away from the Pilots (1-10) and claim a victory on the road.

Auburn catcher Bobby Stang (Georgia Southern) recorded three hits and a game-high four RBI during the victory, while designated hitter Hazel Martinez (Union) added a double, a walk, two runs scored and three RBI. Auburn starting pitcher Joseph Gleason (Mansfield) earned the win on the mound after allowing four hits, two runs and zero walks with three strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work. Right-hander Colin Leyner (Ithaca) pitched 2.0 scoreless innings in relief for the DoubleDays.

Newark catcher Jack Arcamone (Richmond) recorded two hits, a walk, and a team-high two RBI for the Pilots.

The DoubleDays will look to extend their winning streak to three games on Tuesday when they travel to Geneva for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Red Wings, while the Pilots will play at Batavia on Monday at 6:35 p.m.

Oneonta Outlaws 14, Saugerties Stallions 2

The Outlaws (5-6) scored eight runs in the fifth, and five more in the top of the sixth to end the contest in seven innings via run rule at Saugerties’ Cantine Veterans Memorial Field.

First baseman Jack Hopko (Rhode Island), left fielder JJ Devito (Molloy) and right fielder Jarod Wade (Long Island) recorded two RBI and two runs scored each for the Outlaws. Devito added three hits, while designated hitter Caden Marsters (Erskine) tallied two hits, a walk, an RBI and a game-high three runs scored during the victory. Oneonta starting pitcher Kyle Mahady (Saint Peter’s) earnedthe win after limiting the home team to six hits, one earned run, and one walk with four strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. Mahady now holds a 2-0 record through three starts this season. Right-hander Joel Hayner (Herkimer) tossed a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the seventh for the Outlaws.

Right-hander Xavier Rodriguez (Webber) delivered a good start for the Stallions (3-5), conceding three hits, zero walks and zero runs with one strikeout in 3.0 innings of work. Left fielder Ethan Conrad (Marist) recorded a team-high two hits for the Stallions.

The Outlaws will host Glens Falls on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., while the Stallions will play at Albany on Monday at 6:35 p.m.

Elmira Pioneers 3, Buffalo Diesel 4

The Pioneers competed in a non-league contest on Sunday.
