For the second straight night, eight games of PGCBL action happened around the league with 14 teams in action, featuring some stellar pitching performances. Read all about the results from Saturday!

Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 7, Albany Dutchmen 2 (Game 1)

Down 2-1, the DiamondDawgs scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to go ahead. That frame was highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of Garrett Musey (Goldey-Beacom), his fourth home run in three games and fifth in five games. Alfredo Delgado (Manhattan) also had an RBI single in that inning as part of a 3-for-4 night, driving in two runs and scoring once himself. Billy Hoffacker (Gloucester) got the final nine outs, only allowing one hit.

Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 5, Albany Dutchmen 0 (Game 2)

Mohawk Valley completed the doubleheader sweep by scoring two runs each in the third and fourth innings and adding their last run in the fifth inning. Troy Butler (Binghamton) fired a complete game shutout in the win, only giving up two hits and striking out 11. Musey delivered another RBI single, while Pete Durocher (Manhattan) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Glens Falls Dragons 8, Boonville Baseball Club 7

The Dragons scored all eight of their runs in the first five runs of the game and held off a late Boonville rally. Riley Orr (Castleton) threw five innings of two-run ball for Glens Falls, while Reece de Castro (Castleton) had a pair of doubles. Zach Crampton (Haverford) and Scott Seeker (Western Oklahoma State) each hit home runs for Boonville.

Elmira Pioneers 6, Jamestown Tarp Skunks 5

The Pioneers trailed 5-4 heading into the eighth inning, but pulled off a comeback win for the second straight night, taking the lead as Bobby Marsh (Florida Atlantic) scored on a wild pitch after singling, part of a 2-for-3 night for him. Max Mandler (Seton Hill) had an RBI single earlier in the win as well. For Jamestown, Eli Shedd (Wagner) threw five innings of shutout ball, while Johnny Kampes (Goldey-Beacom) hit a home run.

Saugerties Stallions 11, Watertown Rapids 1

The Stallions fired off their fifth straight win by scoring in five different innings, including four in the eighth. In that frame, Brett Heckert (Pittsburgh) delivered an RBI double as part of a 3-for-4 night with three RBIs and two runs scored. David Shackelford (Arizona) had an RBI single in that same inning, finishing his night 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Saugerties had 16 hits on the night as a team.

Amsterdam Mohawks 8, Oneonta Outlaws 0

The Mohawks scored all eight of their runs in the first four innings, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Gage Miller (Bishop State CC) in the fourth inning, Ian Perutz (Maryland) with an RBI double in the third as well as RBI singles from Brett Coker (Middle Tennessee State) and Cameron Love (Rutgers). The Mohawks’ pitching staff did not allow a hit until the seventh inning after five no-hit innings from Aidan Kidd (NJIT), who struck out eight, as well as a hitless frame from Quin Konuszewski (Pittsburgh).

Geneva Red Wings 5, Newark Pilots 0

A total pitcher’s duel until the ninth inning, as Geneva’s Jack Eshleman (Hamilton) threw eight innings of one-hit ball, while Newark’s Ethan Rembish (Fairleigh Dickinson) tossed seven innings of no-hit ball. Nick Serce (Alfred State) broke the tie in the ninth inning with an RBI single as Geneva scored five in that frame, with Andrew Whinney (Holy Cross) coming through with a two-run single as well.

Utica Blue Sox 4, Auburn Doubledays 3

The game was tied at three heading to the ninth inning, with Utica taking the lead in the top half as Avery Lee (Marshall) scored the go-ahead run. Ryan Maka (Valparaiso) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs on the night, while Ryan Enos (Oswego State) and Clark Burroughs (Limestone) also drove in runs. Zane Roos (Wofford) had two doubles for Auburn in the loss.
