Jamestown Tarp Skunks 6, Niagara Power 0

The Tarp Skunks got a road win by scoring in five different innings and on the back of starting pitcher Derek Benzinger (Bergen CC), who went six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out six. As for the offense, Mark Tucker (North Georgia) had an RBI single in the seventh inning, while Will Dorrell (Flo-Dar CC) provided a steal of home in the fourth inning.

Utica Blue Sox 7, Watertown Rapids 6

The Watertown rally fell short in this one after they scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth after trailing 7-2. The Blue Sox scored three runs in the fifth inning, which included a solo home run off the bat of Ryan Enos (Oswego State). Kade Reinertson (Valparaiso) went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the win, including an RBI single in the fourth and a two-run double in the top of the ninth. Michael Norton (Cayuga CC) drove in a pair of runs for Watertown.

Amsterdam Mohawks 8, Albany Dutchmen 1

In a battle between the league’s top two teams so far, it was the Amsterdam bats that came to life in the late innings, scoring three runs in the sixth inning and five in the eighth to stay undefeated, now sitting at 8-0. Amsterdam did it with six different players driving in runs and eight different players getting a hit. Nick Giamarusti (Pittsburgh) went 3-for-4. Six different Amsterdam pitchers struck out 15 Albany batters to pick up the win.

Glens Falls Dragons 8, Boonville Baseball Club 4

The Dragons picked up their second win of the campaign behind a four-run fifth inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Phillip Krpata (St. Joseph’s-Long Island). That was one of two Glens Falls longballs on the night, as Jake Hatch (Emerson) hit a solo blast one inning later as part of a 2-for-4 night. Jake Washock (Suffolk) threw five innings of two-run ball for the Dragons.

Oneonta Outlaws 4, Auburn Doubledays 1

The Outlaws got on the board in the first inning on a solo home run from Jelani Hamer (St. Rose) and did not look back, scoring all of their runs in the first five innings. Hamer had an RBI single in the fifth inning to complete his 2-for-4 night with three runs scored, while Dylan Broderick (Pitt-Johnstown) and Paul Tammaro III (Oswego State) also had RBI singles. Tyler Sausville (New Haven) was terrific on the mound, giving up one run on two hits while striking out 14 over 7 2/3 innings.
