Utica Blue Sox 9, Watertown Rapids 6

The Blue Sox (14-10) and the Rapids (8-20) battled into extra innings on Saturday, and Utica scored three runs in the top of the 10th to claim a 9-6 win on the road at Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds Stadium in East Division action.

The Blue Sox currently occupy third place in the East Division Standings with a 0.583 winning percentage.

Utica shortstop Andre Demetral (NIU) and third baseman Norris McClure (Spring Hill) both provided two hits and two runs batted in during the victory, while extra hitter Kyuss Gargett (Kentucky) added two hits and second baseman Ben Partridge (Rockland) added one hit, one run, one walk and one RBI.

Utica trailed 6-1 after six innings, then they tallied four runs in the top of the seventh with the help of a two-run single from McClure, then they tied the game in the eighth on an RBI single from Demetral.

Watertown designated hitter Jax Miller (Walsh) recorded a game-high three hits during the setback, while third baseman Pranav Sundar (Cuesta) registered two hits and two runs batted in.

Utica right-handed pitcher Chris Killian (Monmouth) allowed one run in 3.0 innings in relief, then righty Trey Sejnoha (St. Thomas) was credited with his first victory of the season after conceding one hit, one walk and zero runs with three strikeouts in 2.0 innings of work.

Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs 3, Boonville Lumberjacks 2

After the Lumberjacks tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the ninth, the DiamondDawgs won in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice fly from third baseman Sam Miller (Columbia).

The DiamondDawgs remain in second place in the East Division Standings behind the Amsterdam Mohawks.

Mohawk Valley second baseman Corey Adams (William and Mary) and first baseman Sebastian Mueller (Quinnipiac) both recorded two hits during the victory. Adams added an RBI, while left fielder Owen Pincince (New Haven) provided a single and a game-high two runs scored.

MV starting pitcher Colton Trisch (George Washington) tossed 5.0 scoreless innings, and left-hander Aidan Colagrande (Fairfield) was credited with his second win of the summer after recording the final 0.2 outs in the top of the ninth for the DiamondDawgs.

Batavia Muckdogs 4, Elmira Pioneers 2

The Muckdogs (19-8) held the visiting Pioneers (15-10) scoreless for the first eight innings on Saturday at Dwyer Stadium, and they registered a 4-2 win to remain atop the West Division Standings.

Batavia catcher Adam Agresti (St. John’s) recorded two doubles, a single and two runs batted in during the win, while first baseman Trey Bacon (Santa Fe) delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to break the 0-0 tie.

Batavia right-handed starting pitcher Ryan Kinney (Xavier University of Louisiana) improved his record to 3-0 this summer after limiting the Pioneers to one hit, zero walks and zero earned runs with nine strikeouts in 8.1 innings of work on Saturday. Left-hander Rijnaldo Euson (Georgia Southwestern State) earned the save after getting the final out in the top of the ninth.

The Pioneers currently have the third-best winning percentage in the West Division (.600).

Niagara Power 12, Newark Pilots 0

The Power (13-9-1) defeated the Pilots (6-16) in seven innings via run rule on Saturday at Sal Maglie Stadium.

Right-handed starting pitcher Billy Morris (D’Youville) pitched all seven innings and allowed just three hits, zero walks and zero runs with seven strikeouts to improve his record to 4-1 this summer.

Niagara right fielder Jackson Strong (Canisius) went 4 for 4 at the plate with two singles, a double, a triple, two runs scored, and a game-high four runs batted in during the victory, while extra hitter Steve Merkel (Niagara County) contributed a double, a single and three RBI.

The Power currently have the fourth-best winning percentage in the West Division (0.587).

Geneva Red Wings 4, Auburn DoubleDays 2

The Red Wings (6-18) jumped out to a 4-0 lead on the road and held on for a 4-2 win over the DoubleDays (11-14) on Saturday at Auburn’s Falcon Park.

Geneva right fielder Andrew Eppinger (NJIT) recorded two hits and a run scored for the Red Wings during the victory, while first baseman Ethan Swidler (Lafayette) added a hit, a walk and a run scored.

Geneva right-handed starting pitcher Jack Mullen (Bowdoin) earned the win on the mound after allowing three hits, three walks and two runs with six strikeouts through the first 6.0 innings, then after right-hander Wyatt Patchett (Le Moyne) tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, righty Nicholas Franceschi (Finger Lakes) was credited with his first save of the summer after registering 2.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

Game 1: Albany Dutchmen 9, Saugerties Stallions 7… Game 2: Saugerties Stallions 11, Albany Dutchmen 5

The Dutchmen and the Stallions split their doubleheader on Saturday at Albany’s Dutchmen Field at Keenholts Park.

Game 1 – Albany center fielder Anthony Paskell (Rider) recorded a team-best three hits, one RBI and two runs scored during the victory, while shortstop Vince Venditti (Saint Rose) registered two hits, a walk, an RBI and a team-best three runs scored.

First baseman Will Binder (Albany), catcher Tyler Kipp (Fairfield) and second baseman Mario Cubello (St. John Fisher) contributed two runs batted in each for the Dutchmen.

Saugerties designated hitter Ethan Conrad (Marist) went 4 for 4 at the plate during the setback with a double, a solo home run, three runs scored and three RBI.

Albany left-handed relief pitcher Jackson Smith (Kankakee) was credited with the win on the mound after allowing three hits, one walk and one run with four strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work.

Game 2 – Saugerties center fielder Andrew Amato (Delaware) launched two home runs, a double and single during the second half of the doubleheader to finish the game with six runs batted in.

Right fielder Conor Kelly (UMass Lowell) added two hits, a walk, three runs scored and two runs batted in for the Stallions.

Right-handed reliever Daren Barrera (UTRGV) was credited with the win for Saugerties, and right-hander Liam Horan (MSMC) then held Albany scoreless during the seventh and eighth innings.

Saugerties is currently in fourth place in the East Division Standings with a 0.560 winning percentage.

Game 1: Glens Falls Dragons 8, Oneonta Outlaws 4… Game 2: Oneonta Outlaws 4, Glens Falls Dragons 3

The Dragons (11-14) and the Outlaws (11-16) split their Saturday doubleheader at Oneonta’s Damaschke Field.

Game 1 – The Dragons tallied four runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead, then added an insurance run in the seventh to claim victory in the first half of the doubleheader.

Eight different players scored a run for Glens Falls. DH Ryan Grace (Colby) recorded two hits, a run and two RBI, while first baseman Joe Harwood (Bryant and Stratton) added one hit, one run and two RBI.

Glens Falls right-hander Patrick Reilly (Central Connecticut) earned his first victory of the summer after allowing two hits, two walks and zero runs with two strikeouts in 3.2 innings in relief.

Oneonta designated hitter Connor Roche (Wagner) recorded three hits, an RBI and two runs scored during the setback.

Game 2 – The Outlaws trailed 3-2 going into the final inning, and they scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a victory in walk-off fashion and salvage a doubleheader split.

Oneonta first baseman Felix Larose (Herkimer) and shortstop Ryan Leary (Wagner) both registered an RBI and a run scored during the win, and right-handed pitcher Martin Thorsland (Oneonta State) earned his first win of the summer after allowing three hits, zero walks and zero runs with three strikeouts during the final 4.0 innings.

Glens Falls third baseman Johan Sandoval (Bryant and Stratton) produced two hits and a team-best two runs batted in during the setback.
