Rainy weather throughout the day and throughout the state almost completely washed out the day’s slate, but one game made it past Mother Nature and was on tonight’s PGCBL plate:
Auburn Doubledays 2, Elmira Pioneers 1
Auburn left at least one runner on base in eight of the nine innings of Tuesday night’s contest, but did just enough to squeak by the Pios and snap their two game skid. It was a 1-1 game going into the sixth, before Assan Lowengart (Mansfield) singled in Luke Hanson (Virginia) for his second RBI of the night to give Auburn the lead. Elmira would threaten with a runner on third with just one out in the bottom of the ninth, but after a groundout and walk put runners on the corners with two away, Connor Brala (Tufts) would gun out Bobby Marsh (Penn State) trying to steal and end the ballgame.
The ballgames between Utica and Boonville, Albany and Oneonta, and Batavia at Geneva were all postponed, while the interdivision doubleheader between Niagara and Amsterdam was called off due to the inclement weather.
