The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) is excited to announce the 2024 debut of a new team in Niagara Falls, New York; the Niagara Falls Americans.

The Niagara Falls Americans will make their inaugural debut at Sal Maglie Stadium this summer under the veteran ownership group, Can-USA Sports, led by Robbie & Nellie Nichols.  The husband and wife duo are also tenured owners of two other PGCBL teams; the Elmira Pioneers and Batavia Muckdogs.

Previously, the Niagara Power played at Sal Maglie Stadium and were members of the PGCBL through the 2023 season. The team was purchased by CAN-USA Sports and rebranded to start a new era of baseball in Niagara Falls to coincide with massive renovations that were recently completed at Sal Maglie Stadium.

The ballpark, originally Hyde Park Stadium, was rededicated last year as a tribute to Niagara Falls native and former major league pitcher Sal “The Barber” Maglie. The naming followed the completion of nearly $2 million in upgrades that included installation of an artificial turf playing field.  The ballpark originally opened in 1939 and has previously served as the home field for minor league affiliates of multiple MLB teams.

The Nichols’ have a long and successful ownership run in the PGCBL.  They first partnered with the Pioneers in 2012 and assumed full ownership in 2017. Since then, attendance at the team’s games has grown from 500 to more than 3,000 at the 4,020-seat Dunn Field.

CAN-USA Sports purchased the Batavia Muckdogs in 2021 and became managing partner of its home field, Dwyer Stadium. Muckdogs attendance has grown from 950 to more than 2,100 fans per game.
