Jamestown Tarp Skunks’ Team Release:
Jamestown, NY – The Jamestown Tarp Skunks, with less than two months from Opening Day, released their promotional schedule for 2024. The Tarp Skunks, members of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, begin their season at home against the Batavia Muckdogs on Thursday, May 30th at 6:30 PM. Prior to the start of the game, the team will host a free tailgate festival sponsored by Pepsi featuring live music by the local band “Porcelain Bus Drivers”.
Christian Dolce, General Manager and Director of Business and Sales Operations for the Tarp Skunks stated “After a very successful season last year, we are super excited to add on and create a fun atmosphere for fans at the park in 2024. We are always striving to be Chautauqua County’s best summer entertainment and we have built a fantastic promotional schedule that is exciting, engaging, inexpensive, and fun for all who will attend our games. I am confident that fans will have an amazing experience at the ballpark this year”.
The Tarp Skunks, who saw attendance increase for the 3rd straight season last year, are expecting to see even larger crowds this summer with a schedule that is filled with fun and family friendly promotions. One of the most popular nights for fans, $2 Night, will be back starting on June 4th at 6:30PM and also occurring on June 25th and July 9th. All bleacher tickets, beer, and hot dogs will be just $2. Friday July 5th, will be a $2 Hot Dog only night presented by Sahlen’s.
On Thursday, June 6th, the Tarp Skunks will host School Kids Day presented by Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, with a special start time of 11:00 AM. The Tarp Skunks are scheduling this game to attract students from local schools to attend the game on a field trip. Schools from Jamestown Public Schools, Falconer, Sherman, Panama, Westfield, and Randolph will be in attendance. The Tarp Skunks have sold out the Kids Game and are excited for students to pack the stadium and have a great time.
Friday, June 14th at 6:30PM will be the first of four Community Buyout Nights. Wegmans, Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, Jamestown Community College, and Live CHQ will be sponsoring Community Buyout games on June 14th, June 23rd, June 27th, and July 11th, in respective order. Jamestown Community College will be distributing 100 $10 off food Voucher tickets to the first 100 fans in attendance on June 27th. In addition, the Live CHQ Community Buyout Night on July 11th at 6:30PM will be recognized as a First Responder Night, where the Tarp Skunks in conjunction with Live CHQ are looking to honor all first responders in the area. All Community Buyout games are free to the public and are great ways for organizations to show their support to the community and give fans the opportunity to go to a game for free.
There will be two fireworks nights in 2024, on Monday, July 1st at 7:00 pm and Friday, July 26th at 6:30 pm. July 1st will be presented by Jamestown Mattress, and will kick off 4th of July week celebrations. July 26th’s show will be Christmas in July Fireworks Night, presented by Collaborative Children’s Solutions focused on raising money for the local area.
The Tarp Skunks will be adding a few new fun programs for kids this season in addition to the Tarp Skunks Kids Club and running the bases after weekend home games. This year, all kids aged 15 and under will gain free admission to the park if they come wearing their youth baseball jersey. “Our main goal is to get Kids to the park. Thanks to our Bucks for Baseball program, we hope this offer is something that the children in our community take advantage of, allowing them to come have fun here without having to worry about paying to get in” said Dolce. The “Tarp Skunks Kids Club” , presented by Pepsi, Collaborative Children’s Solutions, Maple Springs Tree Service, Koinonia Christian Fellowship, and McCandless Well Drilling, will be back again after a great success in the first season. Perks of the membership are a mid-season ice cream social with Whiffy, 10% off at the team store, free t-shirt, and a free ticket to Friday night home games. The cost is just $15 and can be purchased online.
First pitch for all games on Monday through Saturday remains the same as last year at 6:30 PM, with the exception of School Kids Day and doubleheaders. All doubleheaders will begin at 5:00 PM. Lastly, Sunday games will begin at 2:00 PM once again this season.
Other promotions taking place this season are the Tarp Skunks Kids Camp presented by Univera HealthCare on Saturday June 29th, Bark at the Park, presented by Purina on July 14th, and the Strike Out Cancer Jersey Raffle Game on Saturday July 20th. Single game tickets will go on sale on Monday May 13th, starting at just $5 each. Season tickets packages are available now starting at just $103. Group outings and picnics are also available for purchase at any time.
With the addition of former New York-Penn League teams Niagara Falls, Batavia, and Auburn, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League will feature 16 teams in 2024. The Tarp Skunks made the playoffs for the second time in three years in 2023 and are now looking to take the next step this year and bring home a championship.
