Newark Pilots catcher Jack Arcamone (Richmond) has been selected as the West Division Player of the Week after registering four hits, five runs batted in and three runs scored during the Pilots’ 2-1 week.
During a 13-2 win at Geneva on Friday, Arcamone went 3 for 3 at the plate with a double, three runs scored and four runs batted in.
Auburn left-handed pitchers Jake Danyluk (Oswego) and Huxley Holcombe (Cornell) have been selected as West Division Co-Pitchers of the Week after outstanding performances during the DoubleDays’ 2-1 week.
Danyluk started on the mound against Geneva on Thursday and completed 6.0 innings of work as the DoubleDays recorded a shutout victory. Danyluk allowed just one hit, two walks and zero runs with seven strikeouts as Auburn prevailed by a score of 4-0 at Falcon Park. Danyluk now holds a 3-1 record with a 0.72 ERA through five starts this season.
Holcombe made his third start of the campaign on Tuesday against the Newark Pilots and tossed 6.0 scoreless innings to help the DoubleDays to a 7-0 advantage before the Pilots staged a comeback with 10 runs in the final three innings to claim a 10-9 road victory.
Holcombe allowed just two hits, one walk and zero runs with nine strikeouts during his six innings of work.
