East Division Player of the Week: Andrew Amato, Saugerties Stallions
East Division Pitcher of the Week: Tyler Sausville, Amsterdam Mohawks
Saugerties Stallions outfielder Andrew Amato (Delaware) has been chosen as the East Division Player of the Week. His ten hits, three home runs, and nine RBI during that span lead all players, and he finished the week with a .526 batting average.
Amato’s breakout game came on July 8, when he went 4-5 with two home runs and 6 RBI in an 11-5 win against Albany.
Amsterdam’s Tyler Sausville (New Haven) has been chosen as the East’s Pitcher of the Week. It’s his second time this season receiving this honor.
On July 7, Sausville pitched seven innings of shutout baseball, striking out nine and allowing just three baserunners to earn the win over Boonville. The victory moved him to an impressive 5-0 with a 1.05 ERA for the season.
