About the PGCBL
The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is a 16-team summer collegiate baseball league in Upstate New York. Since its inaugural season in 2011, the PGCBL – which annually draws talent from the best NCAA, NAIA, and junior college programs – has quickly evolved into the premier wood bat league in the state of New York, while becoming one of the most widely respected summer leagues in the country. The PGCBL is affiliated with Perfect Game USA, the nation’s largest independent amateur scouting bureau.

All positions will be a one-year role with the PGCBL and will be compensated based on experience and skill sets. College credit may also be obtained.
Available Internships:
(1) Journalism & Communications
The position will entail the following roles:
- Update all website content on a weekly (off-season) and daily (in-season) basis including, but not limited to, writing stories and posting photos, game scores, stats, standings, etc.
- Oversee all team rosters, player bios, and stats for the sixteen teams in the PGCBL
- Work with Infinity on all website related issues
- Work with each team’s media correspondent to receive nightly game recaps (in-season) and other feature stories (year-round)
- Send press releases to league and team media contacts
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skill sets:
- Strong writing skills and experience writing post game recaps, feature stories, press releases, and other various written work
- Preferred, but not required, experience using Infinity Pro Sports website management tools
- Ability to work nights and weekends on a daily basis from June until early August
- Remote work is available for the right candidate
(2) Graphic Design, Videography & Photography
The position(s) will entail the following roles:
- Design graphic content for daily postings, league matchups, daily & weekly player awards, and other daily designs for league website and social platforms both in-season and off-season (year-round)
- Design new website and social media headers and graphics
- Capture photos and video at ballparks across the league throughout the season
- Gather and package game night content from teams throughout the league on a nightly basis
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skill sets:
- Advanced skill and ability in graphic design (open to preferred design software)
- Ability to cut and edit video footage to create promotional videos and game night highlights
- Possess creativity and the ability to brainstorm and execute engaging content and design ideas
- Ability to travel to ballparks throughout the PGCBL in-season to gather content
(3) Social Media Content & Engagement
The position(s) will entail the following roles:
- Develop creative content planning and posting strategies both in-season and off-season (year-round)
- Oversee and execute content posts on Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram
- Monitor social platforms with the purpose of engagement with followers as well as those accounts the PGCBL follows
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skill sets:
- Advanced skill, knowledge, and experience with social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram
- Understanding of social platform roles and target demographics
- Thorough understanding of content posting strategies and best practices (image sizing, use of hashtags, engagement with followers, etc.) to grow engagement and following across all social platforms
- Strong understanding and following of college baseball
- Advanced skill and ability in graphic design strongly preferred (open to preferred design software)
- Ability to work nights and weekends on a daily basis from June until early August
(4) On-Camera Talent
The position(s) will entail the following roles:
- Interview former and current players and coaches
- Develop interesting and engaging content year-round
- Conduct daily, in-season reports, recaps, and previews
- Conduct weekly, off-season reports, recaps, and previews
- Involvement in developing an off-season and in-season content plan
- Remote work is available during the off-season. In-season, applicant must have the ability to travel amongst ballparks throughout the PGCBL
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skill sets:
- Extensive experience being in front of a camera and an on-air talent
- Ability to interview players and coaches both via Zoom and in-person
- Convey a professional and enthusiastic presence at all times while on camera
(5) Statistics
The position will entail the following roles:
- Oversee the nightly game scoring for all sixteen teams in the PGCBL
- Lead a pre-season tutorial to all team scorers on how to operate Pointstreak scoring software
- Work with each team’s official scorer to ensure nightly box scores are executed and uploaded to Pointstreak in a timely and proper fashion throughout the season
- Work with official team scorers to maintain accuracy and help correct needed scoring changes, as necessary
- Remote work is available during the season
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skill sets:
- Extensive background in baseball statistics and game scoring
- Extended experience and strong understanding of utilizing Pointstreak scoring software
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work nights and weekends on a daily basis from June until early August
