Elmira Falls In One Run Ball In Regular Season Finale

The Pioneers looked to complete a series sweep against the Adirondack TrailBlazers before playing the Newark Pilots tomorrow in the single elimination playoff game against either the Newark Pilots or the Jamestown Jammers at 7:05 p.m.

It was back and forth in the beginning of the game before the TrailBlazers took a 1-0 lead against the Pio’s in the top of the third.

Zeke Lewis (Kentucky) would answer back after scoring on an Adirondack error to tie it up at one run apiece in the same inning.

The game would remain scoreless until the top of the eighth when TrailBlazer Chuck Hooker (Alderson Broaddus U.) hit a sacrifice fly to give Adirondack the 2-1 lead.

The Pioneers would fall to the TrailBlazers 2-1 in a well fought game by both teams. Elliot Lance (Wofford) would get the loss pitching eight innings of work giving up two runs on three hits and striking out three. Jesse Slinger (Youngstown State U.) receives the win giving up one run in seven innings on six hits and striking out six. Don McWreath (Seton Hill U.) notched the save in two innings of work.
