Elmira's roster has grown, as has the Pioneers' schedule of events this summer.
The Pioneers announced Wednesday the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League team has added three players from Wofford University. At the same time, the Pioneers also announced they will host the Set the Night to Music event at Dunn Field on June 24. The annual event, previously held at the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, will be capped by a fireworks display set to music and is free to the public.
The Pioneers expect the music event to attract 15,000 people, which would mark an attendance record for Dunn Field.
"This is just another historic event that we are so lucky to have come to Dunn Field," Pioneers co-owner Robbie Nichols said in a media release. "We know it will be a fantastic show and will be a great memory for all involved."
The concert will include four local bands playing live, starting at 5 p.m., with the stage set up in center field. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
