New Dragons coach gets ready for season

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- Cameron Curler still has a week left in his third season as an assistant baseball coach at the College of St. Joseph.

But he already has his summer job set as the new head coach of the Glens Falls Dragons of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.

Curler, who turns 26 in a couple of days, was hired by Dragons owner Ben Bernard last fall. SUNY Adirondack coach Casey Job, who coached Glens Falls last year, was unable to make the time commitment because of his full-time job as an adviser at the college.

“I’ve known Ben for a bit because of the (USCAA) World Series,” Curler said, referring to the college championship tournament that will be played next week at East Field for the second straight year. “He let me know that they might be looking for a new coach, and we had a little chat and I got the job around October.”
