Cooperstown Hawkeyes head coach Eric Coleman will have a new look to his coaching staff this coming season. Pitching coach Brett Gips returns with the same title. The Hawkeyes will also welcome assistant coach Juan Carlos Calderon to the program.

Head Coach Eric Coleman has coached 14 JC All-Americans during his time at San Jose City College, Diablo Valley College, San Diego Mesa College and Niagara University. Coleman has coached 17 players that went on to play Major League Baseball, and over 96 of his players have gone on to play professional baseball. Coleman spent three years in the Frontier League with the Midwest Sliders organization and in 2011 he was named the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League Coach of the Year.

Gips enters his second season on Coleman's staff as the pitching coach. Gips is currently the assistant pitching coach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where he is pursuing his masters degree in Kinesiology. This is Gips first year coaching at TAMUCC of the Southland Conference.

Calderon comes to the Hawkeyes after spending last summer as an assistant coach for the Amsterdam Mohawks. Juan Carlos Calderon is entering his second season as a graduate assistant at Iowa Lakes Community College, where he assists head coach Jason Nell. The Caracas, Venezuela, native is a 2010 graduate of Oakland City (Ind.) University with a degree in Business Administration and Sports Administration.

The Cooperstown Hawkeyes are currently preparing for the 2012 season, which begins on June 6th at 5pm at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown.
