From the Glens Falls Post-Star

After a two-year absence, baseball returned to East Field in 2004 in the form of the Glens Falls Golden Eagles.
It was a new form of baseball for Glens Falls - a team of college players from around the country playing in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, a wood-bat league that showcases talent for future pro careers.
The 2004 season, which ended in a loss in the divisional final, was a precursor to the success the team has had in the eight years since, all under coach John Mayotte, who carefully selects the players. The Golden Eagles have been perennial championship contenders, first in the NYCBL and now in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Nearly a decade after their collegiate careers, all of the players tracked down from that original team are no longer playing. Most of them are in their late 20s, transitioning to new careers and domestic life.
