Throughout the season, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League will be recognizing a Player and Pitcher of the Night on each game day.

Player of the Night: Matt Padre, Amsterdam (Manhattan)

Padre reached base three times on Sunday night, helping the Amsterdam Mohawks to their fifth consecutive victory, a 7-2 triumph over the Glens Falls Dragons at East Field. Amsterdam's victory increased the Mohawks' lead to 2.5 games over the Albany Dutchmen in the PGCBL East. The catcher walked in the fourth inning, and singled in each of the last two innings, when the Mohawks scored a combined three runs to put away the Dragons. Padre drove in a pair of runs in the top of the ninth on his second single, giving Amsterdam a five run lead that would prove to be the final score.

Pitcher of the Night: Mason Hazelwood, Elmira (Kentucky)

Mason Hazelwood posted one of the most dominant outings in recent memory in the PGCBL on Sunday, tossing seven shutout innings in a 4-1 victory over the division champion Jamestown Jammers. Of the 24 batters faced by Hazelwood, 16 were set down on strikes, while only three were able to reach base on two hits and a walk. The last of Hazelwood's 16 strikeouts tied the all-time PGCBL record as his 74th strikeout of the season, evening the mark set by Amsterdam's Mark Leiter in 2011 and Elmira's Kyano Cummings in 2015. The performance was Hazelwood's third outing with ten strikeouts or more, and was his third time allowed zero runs in five or more innings.
