Throughout the season, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League will be recognizing a Player and Pitcher of the Night on each game day.

Player of the Night: Ty Babin, Newark (Campbell)

Ty Babin helped lead Newark to a dominant 16-1 victory over the Jamestown Jammers, denying Jamestown a division championship for at least one more night. Babin, a catcher from Campbell, went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs, and reached base in four of his plate appearances. The catcher drove in his runs on a single in the third inning, another single in the fourth inning, a double in the sixth inning, and a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. Babin is currently on a 13-game on base streak, and has driven in ten total runs in his last five games for the Pilots.

Pitcher of the Night: Trent Baker, Newark (Angelo State)

Baker earned his second victory of the season on Friday night, holding a potent Jamestown lineup to just one run in six innings of work. The Angelo State product scattered seven hits in six innings, and struck out ten Jamestown hitters while walking only two. Baker tossed 109 pitches over his six innings, and faced 27 total batters. The victory avenged two previous losses to the Jammers for the righthander, who had taken both of his two losses this season against Jamestown. On the season, Baker has struck out 40 hitters in 36.1 innings, and lowered his ERA to 4.21.
