Jordan Fuller (Seton Hill University) kept the Saugerties Stallions (0-2) off the board during his six innings of work and the Newark Pilots (1-0) beat the Saugerties Stallions, 4-1.
Fuller struck out six and allowed two walks and two hits. He took a no-hit bid through three innings until the Stallions got their first hit in the bottom of fourth inning on a one out base hit by Micah Riddick (Ulster CC).
The Pilots plated their first run in the top of the 4th inning on a one out ground ball by Willy Yahn. The Pilots scored once more in the 5th inning, and then twice more in the 6th. In the 6th inning shortstop Cody Wiktorski belted a solo home run over the left field fence.
The Stallions couldn't put a rally together in their innings of offense. A few base running errors forced the Stallions out of a few innings. The Stallions return home again tomorrow night as they try and win their first game of their inaugural season.
