SAUGERTIES, N.Y. - The Saugerties Stallions had their win streak snapped at three straight games after falling to the visiting Jamestown Jammers, 5-3, on Sunday night at Cantine Field.

The Stallions continued their fast pace of play by quickly scoring two runs in the bottom half of the first inning.  Nick Campana (Hartford) singled to start the inning and moved to second on a stolen base.  While stealing second, Jammers catcher threw the ball short and skipped in to center field, allowing Campana to move to third.  Luke Pettersen (Minnesota) walked to put runners on the corners for the Stallions.

Pettersen took off for second and was caught in a run down.  Campana broke for home and beat the throw to score the first run of the game.  Pettersen would steal third later in the inning and score on a Jack Gonzalez (Stetson) groundout to second base.

In the top of the second inning, the Stallions had a pair of highlight defensive plays to hold the Jammers scoreless.  The Jammers led the inning off with a Sklyer Valentine (Texas State) double and moved to third after a fielder’s choice.  Stallions second basemen Pat Lagravinese (UAlbany) got a ground ball and fired home to catch Valentine trying to score. Stallions catcher Austin Powell (Arkansas State) threw out Jimmy Standohar (Niagara) trying to steal second to end the inning.

The Jammers came back to score one run in the top of the fifth inning to move within one run of the Stallions after a wild pitch.  In the top of the sixth, the Jammers tied the game with a solo homerun by Alex O’Donnell (Mercyhurst) to tie the game at two.

The Jammers would go on to score two more runs in the top of the seventh to take a 4-2 lead, but the Stallions would come back. Saugerties scored one run to make the score 4-3.  Nick Teitter (St. Rose) launched a double and eventually scored after a Matt Pushard (Maine) infield single. In the top of the eight, the Jammers added another run and take a 5-3 lead.
