JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- Jammers scored a combined six runs in three straight innings, which was accompanied by a solid pitching performance by Cory Blessing (Ohio) who went 6.0 innings allowing two runs (two earned) on five hits and striking out five.
The Jammers got on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd by scoring a run on two hits. Skyler Valentine (UTSA) led the inning off with a double and later scored on an RBI single by Jimmy Standohar (Mercyhurst)
In the bottom of the 3rd the Jammers were able to plate 3 runs on 0 hits as the Jammers accumulated 4 walks in the inning to increase their lead to 4-0 over the Geneva Red Wings.
In the bottom of the 4th the Jammers were again able to add to their lead, as they scored two runs on two hits including an RBI double by Christ Conley (Canisius)
The Red Wings started to climb back into the game late, as they got on the board in the top of the 5th as they scored two runs on two hits. The Red Wings added another run in the top of the 8th to cut the lead in half and made it 6-3 Jammers.
Nolan Hunt (Canisius) was able to shut the door as the Westfield native threw 2 innings allowing 1 run on two hits to secure the Jammers 20th win of the season.
Jammers are now 20-5 on the season and have the best record in the PGCBL. They were voted the 7th ranked team in the nation according to the National Collegiate Baseball Rankings. Geneva Red Wings drop to 16-8 after the loss.
