AMSTERDAM, N.Y. -- The Amsterdam Hall of Fame Committee has announced the 2017 inductees into the Amsterdam Baseball / Mohawks Baseball Hall of Fame. The four will be honored at a dinner on Saturday, January 28 at St. Mary's Institute. Over 350 guests typically attend the dinner and this year's event is expected to have an even larger turnout.
Former Amsterdam legend Roger Bowman who played in the Major Leagues, along with Paul Mound, a member of the AHS Baseball teams in the 1970's and who is also the current head coach at Union College make up the Amsterdam inductees. Former player Abram Williams, who is the Mohawks all-time saves leader along with current Mohawks Head Coach Keith Griffin, the all-time winningest coach in team history and owner of 6 titles in 8 years while at the helm make up the inductees on the Mohawks side.
Luke Maile, former Mohawks catcher and current member of the Tampa Bay Rays, will serve as the keynote speaker of the event and headline this year's dinner theme of 'From the Mohawks to the Majors'.
Tickets for the evening are $45 and include a cocktail hour from 5:00-6:30, a full dinner, and autograph/picture time with Maile. The evening, as always, also has both an extensive silent and live auction.
