The Jamestown Jammers came into McDonough Park on Saturday night ready to swing the bats. Over the course of the game, the Jammers tallied 13 hits and managed to score 11 runs on the night. Ben Brookover, (UTSA) doubled twice and plated three runs as Jamestown came into Red Wing territory and picked up there third win of the season over Geneva.
In total, the Jammers tallied 5 extra base hits and made Geneva work defensively throughout the evening. With an 8-5 lead heading in the seventh, Chris Conley (Canisius College) hit a two run single down the first base line which all but ended the Red Wings hopes of a major comeback.
On the mound, Bradley Griggs (UTSA) tossed five innings and allowed three runs which was plenty good enough for his first win of the season. He defeated Conor Russell (Lafayette College) who was only able to throw two innings for Geneva, as the Red Wings fell for the fourteenth time this season.
Jamestown jumped over the .500 mark with the win, improving to 11-10 on the season. The Jammers visit Newark tomorrow night with a chance to pick up back to back quality road wins.
