A walk-off double by Skyler Valentine brought home the winning run for the Jamestown Jammers (7-9) in a 5-4 victory over the Victor RailRiders (9-8) in 10 innings at Diethrick Park on Sunday. The RailRiders went into extra-innings for the second straight game, but this time were unable to come out ahead.
The RailRiders held a 4-2 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth thanks to a good pitching performance from Colin Johnston. Johnston allowed just 2 runs and struck out 7 in 7 innings of work. Despite the RailRiders late game lead, the Jammers were able to put together two runs in the ninth to tie the game. Chas Hadden made it 4-3 with an RBI double, then CJ Pickering came in to pinch hit and delivered on a game-tying RBI single.
In the tenth, Alex ODonnell singled and reached base for his third time on the day. He then scored on Valentine's double to win the game.
Mike Wilcox put together a nice outing in relief, giving up one hit and allowing no earned runs during his 2 2/3 innings of work for the Jammers. Cory Blessing picked up the win and improved to 1-1 on the year. Blessing struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.
Nick Russo and Nathan Koslowski each finished the day with two hits for the RailRiders. Cameron Briggs took the loss for Victor.
