Three pitchers with ties to Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League teams have earned weekly recognition from their respective baseball conferences.

University at Albany junior Zach Kraham (Glens Falls '09) was named America East Conference Pitcher of the Week. Kraham pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout in Albany's 6-0 victory over Maryland Baltimore County on May 14. The senior scattered three hits, walked two and struck out nine in a rain-shortened affair that lasted just six innings. Kraham's nine strikeouts were exactly one half of the outs recorded by the Great Danes in the contest. The Ghent, N.Y., native worked the fourth complete game of his career and second shutout. He improved to 4-5.

The UAlbany pitcher made several appearances for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles during the summer of 2009. Kraham pitched for the Golden Eagles the summer after being named to the America East All-Rookie team.

Radford University redshirt junior Abram Williams (Amsterdam '10-'11) was selected as one of two Pitchers of the Week by the Big South Conference. Williams shared the award with Coastal Carolina's Matt Rein. The RU reliever earned saves in three victories for the Highlanders over the course of four games with Marshall and High Point. Williams tossed two scoreless frames to close out his 12th save over Marshall on May 10. Four days later, Abram earned his team-leading 13th save with one shutout inning at home against High Point. The Amsterdam-bound stopper then closed out the High Point series with another shutout inning on May 16.

Heading into this weekend, the Radford, Va., native has 14 saves in 16 chances, a 3.16 earned run average and 20 strikeouts in 25.2 innings. He has already set the Radford single-season school record for saves and is two shy of the Big South record.

The Radford closer pitched for the Amsterdam Mohawks last summer and he will return to the Carpet City in June. Williams was named to the All-New York Collegiate Baseball League first team last year as a closer and was the Defensive Most Valuable Player in the NYCBL Championship Series against Elmira.

Siena College senior Kyle Sumple (Glens Falls '08) picked up the Pitcher of the Week prize in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Sumple pitched a complete game shutout for the Saints in a conference victory over Saint Peter's in Jersey City, N.J. Sumple scattered four singles, walked four and struck out 11 in the nine-inning contest. He faced just seven batters over the minium in a 136-pitch outing. The senior struck out the side in the third inning with the final two punchouts coming with the bases loaded. He later struck out the side in order in the seventh.

The Windsor, Conn., native pitched for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles last summer. He went 3-1 with a 2.44 earned run average in 11 appearances with eight starts. He struck out 38 batters in 51.2 innings and posted a .225 opponents' batting average. Sumple was the Game 1 starter for Glens Falls in the first round of the NYCBL playoffs against Oneonta. He allowed two runs over seven innings and struck out seven to earn a victory. Kyle was named All-NYCBL second team and he pitched in the 2010 NYCBL All-Star Game.
