As many as three teams can clinch a playoff spot on Saturday night, while the East and Central Divisions could be clinched as well during a six game slate.
Jamestown 11, Newark 6
Jamestown 7, Newark 6
Watertown 5, Geneva 4
Mohawk Valley 6, Elmira 3
Amsterdam 12, Glens Falls 3
Saugerties 4, Oneonta 2
Saturday's Scheduled Games
Oneonta Outlaws at Amsterdam Mohawks
Shuttleworth Park - 6:45 PM
The Amsterdam Mohawks can clinch the 2018 East Division Championship at home on Saturday night with a win over the Oneonta Outlaws. Oneonta, who has been eliminated from playoff contention, will look to play spoiler and end the Mohawks' eight game winning streak. Amsterdam, who has not lost at home since July 12, has won six consecutive games against the Outlaws this season, and holds a 7-1 lead overall in the season series.
Utica Blue Sox at Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs
Veterans Memorial Park - 6:45 PM
With a 2.5 game lead over both Utica and Watertown, the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs can wrap up the Central Division title with a win at Veterans Memorial Park. Even with a loss, Mohawk Valley will seal a playoff spot if the Watertown Rapids lose to Adirondack. Utica, on the other hand, is in a dead heat with Watertown for the second spot in the Central, with both teams sitting at 23-20. Watertown has four games remaining entering Saturday, while the Blue Sox have three.
Adirondack Trail Blazers at Watertown Rapids
Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds - 7:05 PM
After two consecutive victories, the Watertown Rapids have pulled even with the Utica Blue Sox for second place in the PGCBL Central, leading to what may be the most exciting finish of the 2018 season. On the road, the Adirondack Trail Blazers will look to disrupt the Central Division race, which would also clinch a playoff spot for Mohawk Valley. The Trail Blazers have played well against Watertown this season, splitting the first ten games, 5-5.
Geneva Red Wings at Newark Pilots
Colburn Park - 7:05 PM
Second place in the PGCBL West, and the resulting playoff berth, can be clinched by the Geneva Red Wings on Saturday, as the magic number for the Wings is two. With a win and a loss by the Elmira Pioneers, the Red Wings will qualify for the PGCBL Playoffs for the second consecutive season. The Newark Pilots, who sit a game and a half behind Elmira for third in the West, could also use a Pioneer loss. Geneva holds a 5-4 lead on the season over the Pilots.
Glens Falls Dragons at Saugerties Stallions
Cantine Field - 7:05 PM
Saturday night is essentially a must win game for the Saugerties Stallions. Should the Stallions fall to Glens Falls, the Albany Dutchmen would clinch a spot in the PGCBL Playoffs, meaning Saugerties' only path to the postseason would be Amsterdam rallying to get the top overall seed. The Dragons, who have lost five in a row and nine of their last ten, will look to do a favor for their longtime rivals in Albany, who are idle. Saugerties has won four of six games in the season series this year.
Jamestown Jammers at Elmira Pioneers
Dunn Field - 7:05 PM
The Jamestown Jammers can provide the West Division with a third playoff spot with a victory on Saturday night. With a win or a loss by Amsterdam, the Jammers will clinch the top overall seed in the PGCBL, which grants the winner's division another postseason berth. That berth could be beneficial to the Pioneers, who currently hold third place in the West. The Jammers have dominated the season series this year, winning seven of nine over Elmira.
