Here’s a look back at the scores from around the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) on Saturday, July 1:

Newark (6-20) 6, Onondaga (12-10) 5
Newark starter Will Frank (Canisius) carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning with the Pilots leading 5-0, but upon Frank’s exit the Flames nearly completed the comeback. Frank was relieved after giving up a walk and one-out RBI single to Sam Little (Ithaca), ending his fantastic outing after 8.1 innings of work with nine strikeouts. However, reliever Kyle Griffen (Louisiana Tech) gave up four consecutive hits, including a two-run triple to Camillo Spinoso (Le Moyne), and the Fames were able to level the score at 5-all in the top of the ninth. D’Marcus Guillory (Motlow State C.C.) led off the bottom of the ninth with a double for the Pilots and moved to third on a bunt single, before tagging up and scoring the walk-off game-winner on Will Allocca’s (Virginia) sac fly.

Saugerties (13-9) 5, Glens Falls (8-15) 0
Through the first six innings of play, the Stallions and Dragons were locked in a tight contest, with Tyler Kelder’s () solo home run in the fourth being the difference for Saugerties. When Glens Falls starter James Varela (LIU Post) was relieved after 6.0 strong innings of one-run ball, the host Stallions were then able to pile on four insurances runs in the seventh inning. Meanwhile, the Saugerties pitching staff combined for an absolute gem. Starter Nick Massa (Manhattan) allowed just two hits without a walk and fanned 10 in 7.0 scoreless innings. He was relieved by Joe Nellis (St. John’s) and Drew Farkas (Hartford), who each tossed a frame without giving up a hit.
