Two Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) teams have been included in the first edition of this year’s Collegiate Summer Baseball Top 30 rankings, as released by the online publication on Thursday afternoon.

The West Division-leading Jamestown Jammers, who sport an 11-4 overall record, were tabbed the ninth-best summer team in the nation, the highest among the New York-based franchises included in this week’s poll. The Jammers have been getting it done on the mound and at the plate, as they lead the league in both batting average (.288) and ERA (2.49). Christ Conley (Canisius), who returned to Jamestown for his second season in the PGCBL, was crowned the Player of the Week for Week 1 and was recently highlighted in a feature written by Perfect Game USA.

On the opposite side of the state, the Albany Dutchmen were listed four spots below the Jammers at No. 13 in the Collegiate Summer Baseball rankings. The East Division leaders are tied with Jamestown for the best record in the PGCBL over the last 10 games at 8-2. They sit just behind the Jammers with the second-lowest team ERA in the circuit at 3.15 and boast the league’s best fielding percentage at .961. Individually, Trace Tyre (Ole Miss) has climbed to second on the batting leaderboard with a .396 average, while Justin Bureau (Ave Maria) has established himself as one of the most reliable arms out of the bullpen with an unblemished 0.00 ERA and three saves in 8.1 innings.

Collegiate Summer Baseball, or CSB for short, is dedicated to promoting summer ball throughout the country. The online publication currently covers 30 leagues and over 250 collegiate summer baseball teams nationwide. Each week throughout the summer season, CSB releases its list of the top summer teams in the country. To view the entire Week 1 CSB Top 30, click here.

About the PGCBL
The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is a 13-team summer collegiate baseball league in Upstate New York. Since its inaugural season in 2011, the PGCBL – which annually draws talent from some of the best NCAA, NAIA, and junior college programs – has quickly evolved into the premier wood bat league in the state of New York, while becoming one of the most widely respected summer leagues in the country. The PGCBL is affiliated with Perfect Game, the nation’s largest independent amateur scouting bureau. Last year, there were more than 1,500 players in the pros who either wore the uniform of a PGCBL team or participated in a Perfect Game event. For more information, please visit www.pgcbl.com.
