League Leaders Batting Average: Drew Arciuolo, Mohawk Valley (.412) Home Runs: Joe Genord, Amsterdam (6) RBIs: Two tied at 38 Stolen Bases: JJ Shimko, Albany (22) Wins: Four tied at 5 ERA: Cameron Enck, Amsterdam (0.45) Strikeouts: Bryan Warzek, Glens Falls (52) Innings Pitched: Brennen Smith, Victor (51) Saves: Two tied at 7 Streak Leaders Longest Winning Streak (Active): Elmira (6) Best record in last 10 games: Elmira (9-1) Longest Losing Streak (Active): Glens Falls (5) Last Night’s Games: Adirondack 6 Geneva 4 The Adirondack Trail Blazers broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning to beat the Geneva Red Wings, 6-4, in Boonville. Geneva scored the first run of the game in the third inning on an Ivan Wortman RBI single but Adirondack came back with three runs to take the lead. Each team scored a lone run in the third with Geneva’s coming on a Matthew Eastman home run. After Geneva scored two runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game, a Kyle Cunningham RBI single and a Chuck Hooker RBI single gave the Trail Blazers the win. Dylan Borawski tossed seven innings to earn the win for Adirondack as Donald Goodson notched the save. Alec Jordan took the loss for Geneva. Amsterdam 5 Glens Falls 3 The Amsterdam Mohawks rebounded from a loss right before the All-Star break to beat the Glens Falls Dragons, 5-3, at Shuttleworth Park. The Dragons scored the first runs of the game in the third on a Griffin Neuer two-run single. Amsterdam got a run back in the fourth on a Tristen Carranza sole home run. A Chris Givin two-run home run in the fifth gave the Mohawks the lead. A Nate Cardy RBI single in the seventh tied the game but Amsterdam plated two in the home half to take the lead for good. Mike Bonaiuto picked up the win for Amsterdam while Tim Naughton notched the save. Bryan Warzek took the loss for Glens Falls. Elmira 13 Jamestown 6 The Elmira Pioneers scored multiple runs in five different innings to beat the Jamestown Jammers, 13-6, on the road. The Pioneers got the scoring started in the first inning on a Ty Denzer RBI double, a Jason Patnick RBI single and a sacrifice fly. Jamestown answered with a lone run on a Skyler Valentine RBI single. The Jammers tied the game in the second with two runs. Then in the third, Connor Burns hit an RBI single and Nick Graham hit an RBI single to give Elmira the lead for good. The Pioneers scored four runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and two more in the ninth. An Alex O’Donnell double plated two runs for Jamestown in the sixth. Marc Galvan picked up the win for Elmira while Mike Wilcox took the loss for Jamestown. Mohawk Valley 6 Oneonta 3 The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs scored early and went on to beat the Oneonta Outlaws, 6-3, in a key East Division matchup. Mac Crispino hit an RBI single in the first and a sacrifice fly in the second made it 2-0 visitors. Oneonta got a run back in the third on an error but Mohawk Valley made it up in the fifth on a Crispino RBI single. A Garret Kelly two-run single in the sixth extended the DiamondDawg lead. Oneonta rallied with two RBI triples in the ninth but it was too little too late. David Palmer allowed just the one run (unearned) over seven innings to earn the win for Mohawk Valley as Colin Bohnert notched the save. Nate Wrighter took the loss for the Outlaws.
