League Leaders Batting Average: Chris Givin, Amsterdam (.409) Home Runs: Joe Genord, Amsterdam (5) RBIs: Ben Brookover, Jamestown (37) Stolen Bases: JJ Shimko, Albany (22) Wins: Five tied at 5 ERA: Cameron Enck, Amsterdam (0.53) Strikeouts: Bryan Warzek, Glens Falls (46) Innings Pitched: Brennen Smith, Victor (51) Saves: Two tied at 7 Streak Leaders Longest Winning Streak (Active): Amsterdam (8) Best record in last 10 games: Two tied at 9-1 Longest Losing Streak (Active): Saugerties (4) Last Night’s Games: Geneva 2 Adirondack 1 The Geneva Red Wings staged a late rally to come back and beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers, 2-1, at home. Adirondack took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning on a Justin Lebek RBI single. Down by that score in the eighth, Geneva tied the game on a Monroe Donnelly RBI single. Then in the ninth, Drake Sykes hit a walk off single to give the Red Wings the win. Tom Sutera tossed a complete game to earn the win for Geneva while Don McWreath took the loss for Adirondack. Albany 5 Mohawk Valley 1 The Albany Dutchmen rallied and came back to beat the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs, 5-1, at home. The DiamondDawgs took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a groundout and the score remained the same until the sixth inning when a wild pitch and an Anthony Forte RBI double gave the Dutchmen the lead. In the seventh, an error, a JJ Shimko RBI double and a Justin Childers RBI double extended the lead to 5-1. Dylan D’Anna tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball to earn the win for Albany while Mike Appel took the loss for Mohawk Valley. Amsterdam 14 Saugerties 10 After blowing a lead in the middle innings, the Amsterdam Mohawks rallied to come back and beat the Saugerties Stallions, 14-10, on the road. The Mohawks took a 4-0 lead in the second inning on an Andruw Gazzola RBI double, two sacrifices and a Joe Genord RBI double. In the third, Amsterdam extended the lead on an Andrew Rouse RBI single and a Chris Givin RBI single. Saugerties cut the lead in half with a three-run third but Amsterdam quickly responded with two more runs to make it 8-3. Then in the fifth, Saugerties plated six runs, including three on walks, to take the lead. The Stallions added a lone run in the sixth before Amsterdam staged its comeback. A sacrifice fly in the seventh made it a 10-9 game before a four-run eighth, including a two-run Tristen Carranza home run, gave the Mohawks the lead for good. Carranza hit an RBI single in the ninth for good measure. Ben Collincini picked up the win for Amsterdam as Andrew Workman took the loss. Oneonta 6 Jamestown 4 The Oneonta Outlaws took an early lead and didn’t look back, beating the Jamestown Jammers, 6-4, at home. The Outlaws scored three runs in the second, two in the third and a lone run in the fourth to account for their scoring. Rob Nardelli drove in three runs. After scoring two runs in the fifth, Jamestown staged a late comeback with lone runs in the eighth and ninth but it was too late as Oneonta came out with the win. Caleb Armour tossed 2.2 innings of solid relief to earn the win as Antonio Baglivo notched the save. Bradley Griggs took the loss for Jamestown. Victor 8 Utica 2 (Game One) The Victor RailRiders scored seven runs in the final three innings to beat the Utica Blue Sox, 8-2, in game one of a doubleheader. The RailRiders took a 1-0 lead into the fifth inning when John Conti hit a two-run double and an error made it 4-0. Utica scored a lone run in the home half of the inning to make it 4-1. In the seventh, a wild pitch, a Nick Russo two-run double and a Jack Zagaja RBI single made it 8-1. Jake Casey tossed a complete game, allowing just the two Utica runs, in earning the win. Craig Prince took the loss. Utica 3 Victor 2 (Game Two) After going into extras scoreless, there was plenty of excitement in the tenth inning as Utica came back to beat the visiting Victor RailRiders and split a doubleheader. In the top of the tenth, Cameron Briggs hit an RBI single and Chris Lehane hit an RBI single to give Victor a 2-0 lead. Then in the bottom of the inning, a bases loaded hit by pitch made it a one-run game before Kyle Winkler drove in two runs with a single to give the Blue Sox the walk off win. Bear Bellomy tossed two innings of relief in earning the win. Hudsen Hagland took the loss for Victor.
