First pitch for game one is scheduled for 5 p.m. Jamestown 5 Elmira 3 The Jamestown Jammers scored five runs in the first inning and it proved to be enough as they beat the Elmira Pioneers, 5-3, at home. In the first, Scott Braren hit an RBI single, Ben Brookover hit a two-run double, Chas Hadden hit an RBI single and Jake Hammon drove in a run with a single. Elmira got a run back in the third on a Lucas Denney RBI double and scored two more in the eighth on a Denney home run and a double play, but it wasn’t enough. Dylan King struck out five in five innings of one-run ball to get the win as Cory Blessing notched the save. Spencer Kulman took the loss. Newark 7 Geneva 1 The Newark Pilots were in unfamiliar territory Tuesday — playing an away game at their home ballpark. But that didn’t stop them from taking over second place of the West Division as they went on to beat the Geneva Red Wings, 7-1. The Pilots scored the first run of the game in the fifth on a groundout. They extended the lead to 3-0 in the eighth before Geneva scored its lone run in the home half on a Luke Johnson RBI double. In the ninth, Darian Herncane drove in two with a double, Jordan Swiss hit an RBI single and a sacrifice fly made it a 7-1 game, which ended up being the final score. Sam Harrington allowed just the one run in 7.1 innings as he picked up the win. Dalton Reed pitched well over eight innings but it wasn’t enough as he took the loss. Saugerties at Mohawk Valley The game was postponed and will be made up as part of a July 26 doubleheader in Saugerties as the Stallions do not visit Little Falls anymore this season. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 5 p.m. Victor at Utica The game was postponed and will be made up as part of a July 9 doubleheader.
