 Victor 2 Albany 1

 

An eighth inning run broke a 1-1 tie as the Victor RailRiders picked up a road win over the Albany Dutchmen in the Capital City.

Dale Wickham, who finished with three hits on the night, drove in the winning run for the RailRiders in the eighth. Albany’s only run of the game came on a Mychael Goudreau RBI single.

Brennen Smith went seven innings, allowing just the one Albany run, in getting the win for Victor. Troy Montemayor took the loss for Albany as Cameron Briggs notched the save. 

Amsterdam 7 Utica 4

 

The Amsterdam Mohawks scored five runs in the sixth inning to go on and defeat the Utica Blue Sox, 7-4, in a game called short because of the weather.

After Utica scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 3-2 lead, Joe Genord hit an RBI double, Dan Maynard hit an RBI single and Tyler Ungerland hit a bases-clearing, three-run triple to give the Mohawks a 7-3 lead. Mike Warren hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh for Utica but the game was called with the final score of 7-4.

Mike Bonaiuto got the win for the Mohawks while Brandon Romero gave up the five sixth inning runs in taking the loss. 

Elmira 3 Newark 0

 

Four Elmira Pioneers combined to shutout the Newark Pilots and send the Pioneers to a 3-0 win at Colburn Park.

Elliot Lance tossed the first five innings as he got the win. Three Elmira relievers combined to allow just two hits. Parker Caracci notched the save.

The only runs in the game came in the third on a bases loaded walk and in the sixth when the Pioneers plated two runs, including one on a Brian Kelly RBI single.

Jacob Hendricks took the loss for Newark.

Geneva 8 Jamestown 4

The Geneva Red Wings scored three runs in the first inning to propel them to an eventual 8-4 win over the Jamestown Jammers in Jamestown. 

Matthew Eastman hit an RBI double to kick off the scoring in the firs and two fielder’s choices scored the other two runs. Jamestown responded in the home half with two runs, including one on a CJ Pickering RBI single. The Jammers tied the game in the second on an error and both teams scored a lone run in the fifth. But Monroe Donnelly hit an RBI double and a sacrifice fly plated two runs in the sixth for the Red Wings as they added lone runs in the seventh and ninth innings to pull away.

Adam Carafotes picked up the win for Geneva and Trevor Simon took the loss.

Mohawk Valley 6 Oneonta 1

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs won their third straight game with a 6-1 triumph over the Oneonta Outlaws on the road.

The scoring started in the second inning on a sacrifice fly and Mohawk Valley extended its lead to 5-0 in the third on a three-run Michael Conti double and a Tanner Leenknecht RBI double. Oneonta scored its lone run of the game in the seventh on an error.

David Palmer tossed a complete game for the DiamondDawgs, allowing just the one Oneonta run while striking out four in the victory. Mike Adams took the loss for the Outlaws.
