Last Night’s Games:
Jamestown 11 Adirondack 2
The Jamestown Jammers scored three or more runs in three separate innings to beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers, 11-2, in Jamestown.
The Jammers scored four runs in the first on a Clay Payne RBI single, a hit by pitch and an error. A Skyler Valentine RBI double in the second extended the lead to 5-0. Then in the third, Hunter Jones hit a two-run double and Chas Hadden hit an RBI single. The final Jammer runs of the game came in the fifth on a bases loaded walk, a Valentine RBI single and a sacrifice fly.
Nick Wegmann earned the win with five innings of one-run ball. Dino Cattai gave up the first eight Jamestown runs in taking the loss for Adirondack.
Amsterdam at Albany
The game was postponed and will be made up as part of June 26 doubleheader in Albany. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Victor 1 Elmira 0
One run was enough as the Victor RailRiders topped the Elmira Pioneers, 1-0, in a day game in Victor.
In the bottom of the second, Cameron Briggs plated Nick Russo with a sacrifice fly in the first and only run of the game.
Brian Reed struck out five batters and allowed three hits over 5.2 scoreless innings to earn the win for the RailRiders as Luke Tomczyk notched the save. Sean Hjelle took the loss for Elmira.
Oneonta 17 Geneva 5
The Oneonta Outlaws moved into sole possession of first place in the East Division with a 17-7 win over the Geneva Red Wings.
The Outlaws scored five runs in two different innings with the first coming in the first inning. An error, an Alex Malsch RBI single, two more errors and a sacrifice fly accounted for the five runs. John Hennen hit a two-run home run in the second inning and Reed Massey also drove in a run. In the seventh, Jimmy Hand hit a two-run double and a passed ball made it a 12-4 game. The second five-run inning came in the eighth as Reed Massey hit an RBI triple, a groundout and an Alex Malsch three-run triple completed Oneonta’s scoring.
Cal Lawrence earned the win for Oneonta and Caleb Armour pitched effectively for 3.1 innings as he got the save. Alec Jordan took the loss for Geneva.
Mohawk Valley at Glens Falls
The game was postponed and will be made up as part of a July 10 doubleheader in Glens Falls. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Utica 9 Newark 7
The Utica Blue Sox took over sole possession of first place in the West Division with a 9-7 victory over the Newark Pilots at Donovan Stadium.
The Blue Sox got on the board early, plating a run on a wild pitch in the first inning. Newark tied it in the fourth on a Bo-Hao Huang RBI single. The Pilots took the lead in the fifth on an error and a Greg Cullen RBI single. But the Blue Sox struck back in the bottom of the inning, scoring five runs on a Trevor Bastein RBI single, a Jared Baldinelli RBI single, a Mike Warren two-run double and a Franklin Jennings RBI double.
Newark rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth but it wasn’t enough as Utica held on to win.
Brian Kavanagh tossed six solid innings to get the win for the Blue Sox as Jacob Hendricks allowed five runs in two thirds of an inning in taking the loss.
