The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is proud to work with some outstanding young men and women off the field. We look forward to seeing the interns below move into sport management positions across the country. Here are this year's PGCBL All Star Interns.
Albany Dutchmen - Ryan Murphy, who just graduated from the University of Iowa served as the team's Broadcaster and Sports Information Director.
In addition to his outstanding game calling, Ryan wrote media announcements and game notes for the game day programs. He also contributed to
the daily update of the Dutchmen's website and social media accounts. Ryan is now working full time as a news and sports anchor for KCJJ Radio
in Iowa City.
Adirondack Trail Blazers - Troy Jones, a sophomore at Monroe Community College, was outstanding writing media announcements, working in the press box, interacting with fans during on field promotions and game day operations. He also excelled as the public address announcer. Troy even spent time performing administrative tasks for the team's Head Coach.
Amsterdam Mohawks - Brendan Reilly, a student at the University of Albany, served as the Broadcast Intern for the PGCBL champion team in 2014.
Elmira Pioneers - Sarah Fisher, a marketing major at the University of South Carolina - Upstate, was involved in almost every aspect of the Pioneers Game Day Operations. She worked in ticket sales, game day fan entertainment, clubhouse management and was the lead intern at the PGCBL All Star game in Elmira.
Glens Falls Golden Eagles - Ben Harvish, is a sophomore majoring in sport management at St. Josephs College in Rutland, VT. He was involved in all aspects of game day operations,
Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs - Kristen Lansberg, who begins her junior year at SUNY - Brockport, was involved in all facets of the DiamondDawgs operations.
Newark Pilots - Kathy Damato, a rising senior at St. John Fisher College and a three time Pilots intern is the team's intern all star. Kathy was responsible for game day operations and the social media management for the team. She participated in concessions management and fan entertainment projects during the season. In addition to working with the Pilots, Kathy has worked for the Buffalo Bills, the PGA and the Rochester Redwings.
Perfect Game - Chris Real is studying journalism at the University of Arizona. Chris penned a series of weekly articles on the PGCBL during the 2014 season including feature articles on the PGCBL All Star Game and playoffs that appeared on the Perfect Game website. During the school year he is a reporter for the Arizona Daily Wildcat and On Campus Sports.
Utica Brewers - Meghan Kupiec just completed her second season as a Brewers intern. As the team's Game Day Operations intern Meghan worked primarily with young fans during on field promotions and contests. A graduate of Union College (BS, Psychology- 2014), Meghan will be attending Georgia Southern University, studying for a Masters Degree in Kinesiology and Sport Psychology. Prior to working with the Brewers organization, Meghan interned with MLB at the 2013 All Star Game at Citifield.
