Week 1 Awards Announced

Pitcher of the Week (June 4 - June 11) - turns out to be co-winners: Glens Falls Golden Eagles, William Durruthy (Florida International University) & Albany Dutchmen, Spencer Hotaling (Susquehanna University)

Player of the Week (June 4 - June 11) - Glen Falls Golden Eagles, Brennan Price (Felician College)
 
In the first set of weekly awards for the 2014 PGCBL season, William Durrurthy and Spencer Hotaling have been named co-winners of the Pitcher of the Week award while Brennan Price has taken home Player of the Week honors.
 
William Durruthy tossed seven scoreless innings in his lone start of the week for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles and his start has earned him co-pitcher of the week honors for the week of June 4-June 11. A right-hander out of Florida International, Durruthy struck out five while only allowing one hit against the Adirondack Trail Blazers on June 6. Durruthy is the first Glens Falls pitcher to win Pitcher of the Week honors sinceTaylor Saucedo was a co-winner in week four of the 2012 season.
 
Spencer Hotaling of Albany also tossed seven scoreless innings on June 6 against the West Division-leading Newark Pilots. The start earned Hotaling co-pitcher of the week honors for the week of June 4-June 11. Hotaling struck out four Pilot batters while allowing only two hits. The right-hander from Susquehanna did not walk a batter in his lone start of the week. The last Albany player to win the Pitcher of the Week Award was David Stagg, who was a co-winner in week four of the 2013 season.
  
Brennan Price, also of Glens Falls, led the Golden Eagle offense for the week of June 4-June 11 and has taken home the Player of the Week Award. The left-handed batter from Felician hit .353 on the week with a .542 on-base percentage. Price clubbed two home runs and drove in five Glens Falls runs. Price is currently hitting .375 with runners in scoring position and .333 with two-out and runners in scoring position. Josh Anderson took home Player of the Week honors for week three of the 2013 season, the last Golden Eagle to do so.
