Recap - Golden Eagles too much for Dutchmen in Albany

The visiting Glens Falls Golden Eagles came to Bellizzi Field and hit the ball all over the place as they won by a score of 9-5. They had five hitters record a multi-hit game and another hit a home run to have display tremendous offensive balance throughout their lineup.

Mike Vigliarolo (Saint Louis) blasted his third home run of the season over the left field wall in the top half of the first inning and the Golden Eagle offense proved to be far from finished. They scored runs in five of the nine frames to give relief pitcher Ryan Skoubo (Tacoma C.C.) the win. Skoubo improved to 2-0 on the season while he worked four innings of one-hit relief while striking out one.

Glens Falls improved their record to 13-10 with a total team effort. Buddy Putnam (South Florida), Casey Rodrigue (LSU Eunice), Chase Griffin (Ga. Southern), and Ross Kivett (Kansas State) all had two hits but were outdone by their teammate, Alberto Morales (Clarendon), who had an incredible offensive performance, totaling four hits, two runs, and two RBI.

The Golden Eagles were able to do their damage off of Albany starter Kasceim Graham (UAlbany), who drops his record to 0-1, making his first start of the season for the Dutchmen. He pitched three innings while giving up eight hits, six runs, and striking out two.

It wasn't all bad for the Dutchmen, as the offense looked good at times. Three Dutchmen recorded two base hits apiece as Adam Young (UC Davis), Jack Wietlispach (Parkland), and Morgan Phillips (Charleston) did it while batting first, second, and cleanup, respectively. The Dutchmen had a respectable 10 hits in all, but it wasn't enough to keep up with the Glens Falls offense.

Albany drops below .500 to a record of 10-11, and will be at home again tomorrow at 7pm.
