Early Inning Scores Lead Jamestown to 10-6 Win Over Geneva

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jamestown Jammers won an offensive battle 10-6 over the Geneva Red Wings and improve their record to 2-1 on the season.

The top of the order for the Jammers set the tone for this game by exploding for 4 runs on 4 hits, including a double by Alex O’Donnell that scored 2.

In the bottom of the 2nd the Jammers continued its offensive output by tacking on 5 more runs. The Jammers only had 2 hits in the inning and got some help from the opposition, as the Red Wings committed 2 errors and also 2 balk’s which prolonged the inning, as they went on to score 5 runs in the frame.

After only 2 innings the Jammers lead 9-0 and got a solid outing from their starter Michael Ginther by going 5 innings allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and striking out 3.

The Red Wings started to climb back into the game as they scored 1 run in the top of the 4th with an RBI Double from Mikey Arman and in the top of the 6th the Red Wings plated 3 runs to make it 9-4.

In the bottom of the 6th the Jammers were able to add another insurance run to make it 10-4. The Red Wings showed a lot of resilience by scoring 2 more runs in the top of the 7th to make it 10-6, but the deficit would end up being too much for the Red Wings. 10-6 would end up being the final score as the Jammers bullpen was able to shut the door and secure the win.

The Jammers offense was solid from top to bottom in this game, but the standout was catcher Christ Conley, who continued his hot start by going 3-4 with 2 RBIs and improved his batting average to .500 on the year.
