Last Night’s Games:
Albany 5 Saugerties 1
The Albany Dutchmen took an early lead and didn’t look back as they beat the Suagerties Stallions, 5-1, at home.
The Dutchmen got out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly before a two-run second frame. Saugerties got a run back in the third before Albany answered with a lone run of its own in the fourth. Justin Childers drove in the game’s final run in the fifth inning with a solo home run.
Jackson Bubala tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win while Anthony Rocco took the loss for Saugerties.
Amsterdam 10 Mohawk Valley 7
The Amsterdam Mohawks picked up their 20th win of the season with a 10-7 triumph over the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs in Little Falls.
Errors in the first innings gave the DiamondDawgs a 3-0 lead before Teddy Cillis hit a two-run home run in the second to make it 3-2. Andrew Turner extended the lead to 4-2 in the home half with a solo home run. Tyler Frank hit a two-run double in the third to tie the game. A Frank home run and an Andruw Gazzola RBI double gave the Mohawks the lead before Mohawk Valley tied it on a Drew Arciuolo two-run triple. A four-run seventh for the Mohawks broke the tie and gave them the win.
Mike Bonaiuto tossed 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Colin Bohnert took the loss.
Oneonta 7 Glens Falls 5
A seven-run second inning was all that was needed as the Oneonta Outlaws beat the Glens Falls Dragons, 7-5, at home.
After Glens Falls scored two runs in the first and a lone run in the second, the Outlaw offense broke out for a seven-run frame. The Dragons tried to claw back with lone runs in the fourth and fifth innings but it wasn’t enough as Oneonta prevailed.
Caleb Armour struck out six batters over five innings to earn the win as William Clemens notched the save. Tristan Hubler took the loss.
Jamestown 6 Utica 0
The Jamestown Jammers held the Utica Blue Sox to just three hits as they picked up a road win at Donovan Stadium.
Cory Blessing, who was named a PGCBL All-Star on Monday, picked up the win as he allowed the three hits over seven scoreless innings, including four strikeouts.
The Jammers scored the game’s first runs in the second on a CJ Pickering RBI double and an error. Another error made it 4-0 in the fourth before lone runs in the seventh and ninth sealed the win.
