Saugerties 5 Albany 4
Thanks to early runs, the Saugerties Stallions were able to hold off the Albany Dutchmen and pick up their 10th win of the season.
The Stallions struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Tyler Noe RBI single. A sacrifice fly extended the lead to 2-0 in the second and a three-run third inning, highlighted by a Vince Lakes Jr. two-run home run, made it a 5-0 game. Albany got two back in the sixth and two in the seventh to make it a one-run game but the Stallions were able to hold on for the win.
Andrew Workman pitched a quality start in earning the win as John Doherty notched the save. Jack Grabek took the loss for the Dutchmen.
Geneva 6 Jamestown 5
The Geneva Red Wings came back to beat the Jamestown Jammers on the road Monday to break up a losing streak.
Each team scored a lone run in the first on an RBI single to make it 1-1 before a similar inning made it 2-2 after three. Jamestown scored two in the fifth to take the lead on a Ben Brookover RBI single and a Jake Hammon RBI single. Geneva came back with a three-run seventh, though, taking the lead for good on a Mitchell Doucette RBI single.
Alec Jordan tossed seven innings for Geneva in earning the win and Will Nahmens tossed two scoreless innings to notch the save. Danny Naif took the loss for Jamestown.
Glens Falls 6 Oneonta 4
The Glens Falls Dragons came back and beat the Oneonta Outlaws, 6-4, at Damaschke Field thanks to a five-run seventh inning.
Oneonta took a 4-0 lead into the fifth inning with lone runs in the second and fourth and a two-run inning in the third. Glens Falls got one back in the fifth before the five-run eruption in the seventh. Six different players recorded RBIs for the Dragons.
Peter Masterson tossed 3.2 innings of scoreless relief in earning the win as Joe Jones notched the save. Ty Fowler took the loss for Oneonta.
Utica 9 Victor 7
The Utica Blue Sox used a four-run fifth inning to lead the to a 9-7 win over the Victor RailRiders on the road.
A 3-1 game going into the fifth, Dylan Hutcheson hit an RBI single, Hunter Losekamp hit a two-run single and a sacrifice fly made it 7-1. Victor got a run back in the home half to make it 7-2. Taylor Olmstead extended the lead in the eighth with an RBI single before the RailRiders made it a one-run game with five runs in the home half, including three on a Nick Russo double. A sacrifice fly added an insurance run for the Blue Sox in the ninth.
Chad Burrows started and got the win for Utica as Brian Reed gave up the first seven Utica runs in taking the loss.
