Utica 5 Adirondack 1 (Game One)

The Utica Blue Sox scored all five of their runs in the last two innings to beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers, 5-1, in game one of a doubleheader.

After the Trail Blazers took a 1-0 lead in the third on a Chuck Hoover RBI single, Utica scored four runs in the sixth on a Mitchell Clandra two-run single, a Mason Fessler RBI single and a Jared Baldinelli RBI double. The Blue Sox added an insurance run in the seventh to secure the win.

Chad Burrows allowed the one run over five innings of work to get the win for Utica. Eric Handelman notched the save. Josh Partridge took the loss for Adirondack

Utica 8 Adirondack 6 (Game Two)

The Utica Blue Sox came back after allowing five runs in the first inning to beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers, 8-6, to sweep a doubleheader in Boonville.

Adirondack scored five runs in the first, two of which came via bases loaded walks. Utica got a run back in the second, a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly and plated three in the fifth, including two on a Taylor Olmstead triple to tie the game. A Dylan Hutcheson two-run single in the sixth gave the Blue Sox the lead for good, even as each team scored a lone run in the seventh.

Michael Klingensmith struck out seven in 5.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win as Ryan Green notched the save. Michael Ammerman took the loss.

Mohawk Valley 4 Albany 3

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs held off a late Albany rally to go on and beat the Dutchmen, 4-3, and take over third place in the East Division.

The DiamondDawgs scored all four of their runs in the fifth inning, including runs on a Mac Crispino RBI double and a Michael Ketchmark RBI single. Albany rallied for three runs in the eighth on a Cole Malloy RBI double, a JJ Shimko RBI double and a fielder’s choice. 

Anthony Rupp tossed seven solid innings for Mohawk Valley in earning the win. Zachary Vennaro struck out the final five batters he faced to notch the save and Michael Maul took the loss for Albany. 

Oneonta 6 Geneva 4

The Oneonta Outlaws came back to beat the Geneva Red Wings, 6-4, at Damaschke Field.

After each scored a lone run in the second and two runs in the fourth, Geneva took a 4-3 lead in the fifth. Oneonta came back with two runs in the sixth on a Nick Pope RBI single and a fielder’s choice. The Outlaws added an insurance run in the eighth to seal the win.

Mike Adams tossed four innings of scoreless relief and struck out six to earn the win. Joseph Polanski took the loss for Geneva.

Saugerties 7 Glens Falls 3

A four-run second inning propelled the Saugerties Stallions to a 7-3 win over the Glens Falls Dragons at home.

After each team scored a lone run in the first inning, the Stallions plated four in the second. Glens Falls made it a three-run game in the fourth with a lone run but Saugerties returned with two runs in the home half.

Michael Pfenniger went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs to lead the Saugerties offense.

Andrew Workman allowed the three Glens Falls runs in eight innings of work to earn the win while John Bednarek took the loss.

Jamestown 11 Victor 9

The Jamestown Jammers rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth to come back and beat the Victor RailRiders, 11-9.

Victor got out to a 5-0 lead through three innings with three runs in the second and two runs in the third. Jamestown made it a three-run game in the fourth on an RBI single from Chas Hadden and an RBI single from Jake Hammon. Victor got the two runs back in the fifth on a Chris Lehane single.

Jamestown rallied for three runs in the seventh, including two runs on a Christ Conley single. Keyshawn D’Orso hit a solo home run in the seventh. The Jammers again scored three runs in the eighth and Victor again scored a lone run in the home half. Down by two runs in the ninth, Jamestown rallied for three on a Scott Braren single to go on and get the win. 

Danny Naif earned the win as Cory Blessing notched the save for Jamestown. Dan Cunicho took the loss for Victor.
